I think you're overestimating MDE's reach. There's absolutely zero way they were ever getting a Netflix or Adult Swim show again. Even the idea of them appearing on Rogan was far-fetched and was shot down by Joe Rogan himself when Shane Gillis mentioned it to Joe. People in these spheres tend to think Sam is a bit bigger than he really is. Sure MDE has had a good surge lately and is in a good spot relative to where they were but they're still niche. However Sam certainly didn't do himself any favors with this spergout.

Yeah ok maybe I am reaching, with Netflix and Adult Swim. But these guys are getting old, they're losing touch and aren't going to be doing this shit in 10 years. They probably want to switch to a podcast format, which is already in the process. And the best thing to do is to get in with the Rogan crowd so they can do the interview circuit shit to stay relevant from the influx of the interviewed's fans. Reducing the number of live shows and skits because no matter how much steroids you inject in your balls, sooner or later you're honna be old and tired.
We already saw how implosion prone and how easily the the white niggers on the right can be deplatformed/debanked during the bloodsports era. It's not economically feasible to do it consistently, and sooner or later the fatherless dick cleaners who watch the "philosophical" streams are gonna get bored and look for a new, younger, and edgier edaddy.
This is about being able to conduct your business, and (most importantly in the entertainment industry) show the rest of the fish in the pond that you can behave like a normal human being. That's how you get connected, remain relevant, and keep the money train going.

The Netflix shit was an exaggeration on my part, and a joke on Nick's, but that dude got way to real with it for a minute there. There was something in the works and it was cut, even if it was never going to be getting to Rogan, the near mental breakdown that Nick had while on the Highway is pure proof of that.
