I can't be the only one excited for the Sakura Taisen revival

Anyone played the games before?

My one wish is a compilation rerelease of the original games we did not get internationally. I assume there's lack of interest tho.

I'm still waiting for fan translations of the games that we didn't get, along with a rerun of the collaboration they did with Granblue Fantasy. It was also a part of Project X Zone.

just hope they release it properly in the west on enough platforms (considering sega seems to make a big push with the franchise).

You post a Sakura Wars thread and did not include the them song?

shamfur dispray.....

That being said I've got all 5 games, the Saturn bonus disc, the puzzle game, the anime series, movies, and OAVs.

Ever since Sega bought Atlus there's been talk of bringing the other 4 games over into other territories. However the once concern is, is that they have to make Sakura Wars different enough from Persona and it seems they're adding an active battle system instead of a turn based one for the new game.

God I'll never get tired of the theme song. Japanese Imperial pilled and steam power based

Always wanted to play the games. shame I don't understand Kanji or Japanese.

So I picked it up. Its not bad at all. Combat doesn't bother me either. I'm not sure why people are so upset about it. They took things in a different direction and it paid off.

If you're having trouble S ranking stuff hit circle, circle, circle, triangle for a combo and also blow your special attack at a big boss enemy or a large group of them. The action battle system confused many Japanese players which is why the reviews are skewed. Many were just mashing triangle for strong attack and thought that was it.

Also hit L1 to switch to the other members in your group and remember to use their special attack. This isn't explained at all, nor is it shown on the info screen.

Team attack unlocks are fucked. I still can't get Clarissa's despite doing all the listed steps involved. But everyone else's is tied to a specific event quest other than hers, except Sakura can overwrite Clarissa's attack event and nullify it. That's the only screwy part I've run into.

Everything else in the game is solid, and there's an anime series coming that serves as a sequel for after the game. I really hope sega makes another one because what they have here is good.

I'm just wondering if it will pave the way for sequels or installments that will at least explain what happened to the others, especially the ones in New York.

I used to be really interested in this series because it was a weird obscurity out of my reach since there were no translations for any of the games (official or otherwise) but then I played 'So Long, My Love' and thought "Wow, this is fucking awful".

Hopefully the upcoming entries are good and worthwhile but I'm no longer really hyped for the series.

welp, it kinda fell to the same trap as Valkryria Chronicles (funny considering Valkyria Chronicles is the spiritual successor of Sakura Taisen). They should've just polished the SRPG gameplay
