There's nothing stopping you from using a reaction image and then actually having something to say underneath it, though. You get to use your image and the forum gets something to actually read. Keeps both sides happy.

Well in this "discussion" on the corona thread some wisecrack was trying to bait me like it was his first day on the internets and I responded with a reaction image containing the words "try harder faggot".

Clearly his his post wasn't "conducive to the discussion", neither was mine. We were just flaming each other as the serious portion of the debate had died down after people couldn't provide sauce. So what am I supposed to do instead? Write those very words?

I'd hate to be a little hall pass monitor and report him. Flaming is part of the fun. Ignoring him is an option but its beyond the point here.

Also it seems that this rule is enforced selectively as there are plenty of them around if that is the definition of a reaction post. Though IMO the line is kinda blurred between meme and reaction image if that's one.
