Here’s my question: who’ll buy? RT is mainly some web shows, an outdated Let’s Play channel, and a bunch of podcasts. I’m not even sure that lineup can ensure you make a profit since you’re probably going to sell for scraps.
Honestly, I can only see a company buying them solely to rip it apart and take the good assets that can be profitable while shuttering/firing everything else.

If RWBY gets taken out of RT's hands, it will not continue in its current state. It's too far along and too ladden with baggage for them to do anything short of a full reboot or shelving the franchise for a few years to let nostalgia for RWBY come around and be capitalized on.

To be fair, pretty much any show that involves VS debating will likely have some degree of bias to it. Hell, I’d argue Death Battle’s actually tame in its bias since the show’s creators have had some of their favorite characters lose, like Goku and Archie Sonic.

They’re at least better than VS Battle wiki, where pretty much all of their debates boil down to looking at the characters’ pages and just listing off their powers without considering things like experience, intellect, or one character having an advantage in a specific stat.
idk man, saying Yang would beat Tifa after nerfing Tifa into the ground is far too bias for my liking. I know every one of these sorts of debates will always have some but I don't think they should be putting their own properties into the mix. When Blake beats Mikasa it'll get even worse tbh.

I'd rather go read the autistic subreddit about the same topic than watch that shit. Especially if they still have that retard that does the really bad Sarge impersonation narrating them.

I actually frequent VS Battles and found that they also edit or revise the tiers of characters. How biased it is depends on how autistic some of their users are, or how salty they can get that their body pillow waifu goes down like a bitch, and then they rage and complain to the admin.

In the latest RT Podcast Geoff talks about having a mental breakdown after every podcast incase he's said something to get himself cancelled and end his career.

Must be fun to be completely terrified your fans are going to tear you apart at any moment. Enjoy that, Geoff.
Imagine being scared of the culture you helped support thinking you're doing the right thing in supporting it.

Anyone want to explain this to me?

look's like it's a meme about them turning 18 and changing their name. I saw them asking for name suggestions.
I wonder if you can get blocked for deadnaming them...

edit: as an aside, is it a good idea to be messing around with something like the name of the company? I know it's just a meme or whatever but something just makes me feel that the official name of the parent company, the logo, motto, stuff like that should be solid and unchanged unless an official rebrand is undertaken. Has any other brand joked around by renaming themselves on twitter? I don't think so, and I think there is a reason for that. Idk, it just gives the impression of instability and irreverence for the most basic foundation of the brand. That's my 2 cents worth.

RT posted their latest shirts and uh... wow.

There are maybe three designs in all this that I would consider decent to sell.
Same here the only ones I would consider buying are the fast food ones and even then just the shirts and not the jacket but the other designs are kinda lame especially the “hell” shirts

The hell shirts are a massive waste of potential for a limited design, even for someone like me who has barely heard of their radio show podcast it's from. they could've done a sublimated flame design and tacked on the writing.

I like the fast food ones, especially burger ghost, but otherwise, I'm not into them. Imagine wearing a t-shirt that says "Save Chris," and all day long having to explain who Chris is to people you know. Hell, I don't even know who Chris is, that's how removed from Rooster Teeth I am at this point. It's like every few podcast episodes, somebody says something mildly funny, someone else goes, "hey, let's make a t-shirt out of that!" nobody steps in and says, "maybe not," and then you end up with a t-shirt a few weeks later that makes sense to nobody, and is a reference to a throwaway gag that's already been forgotten about

edit to say I just scrolled through some of their merch collections, and I actually like a lot of the Geoff collection designs, and a couple of the Barb collection designs. I don't know if I'd wear them, myself, but some of them look pretty cool, without screaming "I'm a fan of a failing internet media company." If/When RT goes under, Geoff could start a t-shirt brand, and I'd probably throw a couple bucks his way

They're trying pathetically to chase the success of Gavin's "People Like Grapes" shirt idea with ideas even more stupid then that.
