The Japanese dropped it after season 4 (or 5 I don't remember). Weebs have no standards.

Even most weebs dunk on it, outside of the 13-17 year old girls that are they type to proudly call themselves 'stans' it's mostly forgotten. But kids have more freetime than adults so likely gets more veiws and parents have deeper pockets than twenty-somethings have to budget so it's no surprise it's the better performing property.

It'll be interesting if they manage to shift RT with its numbers going down during a pandemic when all other online media was shooting up. Of course they won't release their website statistics but I doubt they get half the traffic or veiws than from youtube. Plus what can even be done with it? It's a blackhole of money with seemingly little gain to be made with their YT channels atrophying, perhaps try to float themselves with a boatload of cheap and easy podcasts but who the fuck even in the RTsphere wants to here Jack mouthbreath about some fucking rollercoaster?

Today's episode of Off Topic was quite boring but towards the end Jack and Trevor make a few interesting comments regarding RT's budget.
-Jack is the (temporary) host of this episode, he pretends that he is unaware that they have sponsors

-Some woman named Chloe is on as a guest, along with Matt and Trevor

-Jack is confused that Chloe has a proper name as well as an online handle and does not seem to know what to call her

-Trevor dances about as Jack repeats some stupid joke from the last episode

-Trevor tells us that they are now selling a shirt with the aforementioned joke printed on it

-Jack shills some more shirts and his new show 'Annual Pass' which is apparently about theme parks

-Trevor does a stupid face in an attempt to be funny

-Jack is surprised that they are legally allowed to call their new show by the name they chose

-Trevor says that the new show reminds him of "walking into disney" and that it is "care-free, light hearted, and positive"

-Chloe says she likes theme parks

-Jack is a simp

-Trevor pretends to write something down while doing a stupid face in an attempt to be funny

-Trevor has decided that it is time for the audience to "get to know" Chloe

-Trevor describes Chloe as "queen of the memes"

-Chloe discovered AH through Rage Quit ands does not seem to understand how she ended up on the podcast

-Trevor says that he "stumbled into" achievement hunter in the same way

-Jack is still butthurt about Burnie winning an $80 pot during a game of poker over a decade ago

-Jack says that he is very happy to see what Achievement Hunter has become and says that "things are different now"

-Trevor describes Achievement Hunter as "unrecognizable in a good way"

-Jack pretends that Rooster Teeth has influence in "the gaming world" and says that it is neat

-Jack is a simp again

-Chloe says she started streaming because "it just looked fun lol"

-Chloe is very clearly not comfortable talking about herself and seems a bit nervous

-Chloe has decided that she is "the weird girl that likes general grievous" and Trevor pretends that it is interesting

-Matt asks how tall General Grievous is when standing and Chloe does not know

-Trevor and Chloe talk about General Grievous but neither of them seem to actually know anything about the character

-Jack says that General Grievous looks like an elevator and everyone laughs and jokes about it

-Chloe says that General Grievous follows her around everywhere she goes (she has really latched onto this bit as a character trait it would seem)

-Trevor asks Chloe about why she likes General Grievous and she answers with "I don't even know anymore"

-Trevor says that he is excited and wants to talk about some recent movies but does not remember what one of them even is

-Trevor pretends to be a fan of LOTR (he has done this before)

-Jack finds does not like 3 hour long movies and says that they are lazy

-Trevor does a stupid face again in an attempt to be funny

-Jack likes Millie Bobby Brown

-Jack waffles on about 'the Snyder Cut' and does not like director's cuts

-Trevor brings up Harry Potter several times in an attempt to seem relatable

-Chat tells Jack that the director's cut of Blade Runner is good and he concedes that it is

-Jack asks Chloe how she got into gaming and she responds with "From when I was born, I think?" and lets out an utterance about the conversation being like an interview

-Chloe says that she likes WoW and they talk about it

-Trevor asks Chloe a question and it is revealed that her interest in WoW stems almost entirely from watching her dad play it and she hadn't even picked up the game until ~2 months ago

-Jack says that he played WoW 10 hours a day for 2 straight years and had to force himself to stop

-Matt regularly stays up until 4 am to play video games

-Trevor talks about a game that he played as a kid and actually seems genuine this time

-Chloe says that she won an essay contest in high school despite waiting until the day before to write her essay

-Jack reminds us that Trevor somehow has a degree in aerospace engineering

-Trevor says that completing his degree was easy and that he only ever studied because one of his friends wanted to study with him

-Chloe says that she went to college "a little bit" and is scared of simple math

-Jack says that it's ok to not go to college and then starts listing trades as if pursuing a career as a video game streamer is in any way comparable to becoming a plumber, electrician, machinist etc

-Jack thinks that architecture is a trade

-Chloe says that she originally went to college to learn how to edit videos but grew bored of it so she stopped

-Trevor says that school is interesting and that he has opinions about it but does not say what they are

-Matt hated college and did not plan on using his degree for anything

-Chloe suggests that Matt burn his degree "for fire and warmth"

-Trevor casually makes fun of Jack for mispronouncing a word

-Jack says that he is very proud of his worthless film degree and displays it on his wall

-Trevor acknowledges that they are still not back in the office for the podcast

-Trevor accidentally pronounces the word 'fuck' in F**kface so he stops himself, apologizes, and then says the name of the show again but bleeps out the first part. I believe that this is the only swear word used on this episode

-Jack says that most people at RT are fully vaccinated and tells you that you need to go get vaccinated "to get back to some form of normal" and says that he is tired of "having his brain poked"

-Jack says that he can smell blood after he gets tested for covid

-Chloe says that she has never had a covid test inflicted upon her but that she is vaccinated

-Jack says that he experienced mild fatigue for a day after getting his second vaccine shot

-Jack says that they are currently shooting a tentpole production and says that it is "massive"

-Jack talks about their show 'the weird place' and says that he liked it very much and wants to do a second season

-While in conversation Jack refers to 'a dark ride' as if we should know what that means already

-Chloe says "Oh" for what feels like the 10th time in the past twenty minutes

-Jack feels as though he cannot patronize theme parks due to covid concerns

-Jack is working on something for Annual Pass but says he can't talk about it but that he "can't wait to yell from the rooftops about it"

-Trevor loves the MiB ride at universal studios

-Jack asks Trevor about red web, which is apparently one of their many many podcasts

-I've just realized that Chloe seems to be mirroring Trevor and has been the entire time

-Chloe says that she can talk at length about General Grievous but never does

-Jack asks Chloe what her General Grievous podcast would be called if she had one. She says "Uuuuhhhhhhh... General Information" and then everyone pretends that that name is clever and amusing

-Trevor comes up with a name and idea for her podcast to keep the conversation flowing. She responds with "Ok..."

-Trevor's camera suddenly freezes and he disconnects, I suspect that he did this deliberately in an effort to change the subject

-While Trevor is trying to rejoin the podcast Jack asks Chloe if she has anything interesting in her life that she is looking forward to. She responds with "Oh geez... I don't think so"

-Matt white knights for her by saying that Jack "really put her on the spot" by asking her that

-Chloe says that her only personality trait is loving General Grievous

-They are doing some charity event in the future

-They are moving into a new office and Jack seems genuinely confused as to why there are boxes in the office

-Jack is very excited about coming back to the office

-Jack says that he has ran into several people from the office at the grocery store. Trevor makes a stupid joke about social distancing and physically running into people and Jack acts incredulous because he thought he was serious and Trevor has to explain himself

-Matt wanted to hug Jack when he saw him in HEB

-Jack says that he will only spend time with his friends if they have been vaccinated. He describes it as "having that weight lifted off your shoulders" and then goes on to say that he still wears a mask when going out and refuses to eat inside of restaurants

-Jack comments on something Trevor says and he tells him to "quit giving me grief" in an annoyed tone

-They joke about Chloe being underage and based on her personality I thought she actually was for a brief moment
Edit: As pephickshigh pointed out theme parks are open/opening up, Jack is simply too scared of covid to go to them

This is pathetic.

THE MEGACORPORATION THAT OWNS US HAS NO FAITH IN US SO PLEASE BUY OUR JUNK!
-Jack is still butthurt about Burnie winning an $80 pot during a game of poker over a decade ago
Being butthurt is Jacks defining personality trait, so this isn't a surprise.
-Jack says that he is very happy to see what Achievement Hunter has become and says that "things are different now"
"Those mean people who made jokes at my expense are gone now."
-Trevor describes Achievement Hunter as "unrecognizable in a good way"
He's not wrong, it's definitely unrecognizable it used to be entertaining.
-Jack pretends that Rooster Teeth has influence in "the gaming world" and says that it is neat
He's not wrong. RT provides an excellent example of what not to do.

"Those mean people who made jokes at my expense are gone now."

I thought Jacks defining trait was his Onahole ownership and usage.

-Jack laments the fact that theme parks are not open right now

They aren't? I thought Texas was fully open. Besides Disney World has been open for months, Disney Land opens April 30. And other famous theme parks around the country have been open during the pandemic. Even Great Adventure in New Jersey was open last summer and fall and only closed at the end of the season like always due to the North East winter. They reopened for 2021 at the end of March.

You know you have a point here. When Jack said "I really want to go to theme parks again" (or something to that effect) I mistakenly interpreted it to mean that they (or at least the ones he is interested in) were closed. He must feel like he can't go to them because of covid.

The Japanese don't have standards

Don't blame The Japanese for RWBY. They cancelled their dub after 3 seasons I'm pretty sure. Its what remains of the RT fanbase that doesn't have standards.

RWBY fandom also desperately forces out anybody with even milquetoast criticism of the show as well, so all you have left is nuthuggers who think RWBY is comparable to Breaking Bad.

Oh my god, I remember Chloe from when I was a huge stan and had my twitter basically dedicated to RT. She was always kissing everyone's ass and was the "super quirky girl!" because she's obsessed with General Grievous. I had thought that after the Ryan stuff went down she wasn't a fan anymore, but I guess I was wrong.

I thought Jacks defining trait was his Onahole ownership and usage.
That's a good example of Jack being butthurt biting him in the ass, when that was brought up the first time if he had laughed it off it would have been brought up a time or two then forgotten but no he got butthurt and everybody saw that he could be fucked with by bringing it up.

Maybe if he could fuck something not made from silicone, he'd get it.

God, I'm clearly not following AH as closely as I should be, this is the first time I'm hearing about this.
Maybe because it's Jack and he's boring as shit.

Jack being boring predates AH, he was on podcasts when he was 26. Geoff and Gus would constantly berate him for being enthusiastic about stuff nobody else cared about. Then Jack got fired/quit for losing an Xbox Developer's kit with iirc Halo 3 Alpha. In the end he went to LA and did his porn shit, came back to Rooster Teeth and started AH with Geoff and Gavin where they kept making fun of him for being uninteresting and boring.

In Jack's own words the highlight of his life was being 22 and working at Disney World for minimum wage and he's done nothing significant since.

Jack getting shit on my Geoff and Gus was the highlight of early days Drunk Tank. One of the greatest DT moments came from shitting on Jack, second only to Burnie screaming at Geoff about inventing a time machine, going back in time and killing Alexander Graham Bell because he was fucking around with the phone instead of hanging it up and taking out the batteries.

One of the greatest DT moments came from shitting on Jack, second only to Burnie screaming at Geoff about inventing a time machine, going back in time and killing Alexander Graham Bell because he was fucking around with the phone instead of hanging it up and taking out the batteries.
In the Drunk Tank days, the founders were in their early 30's and had professional careers before starting the company.

Now they're hiring 20 somethings who have only been fans of Rooster Teeth that have no other life experience outside of watching RT content most of their lives.

Miyazaki talked about this theory 30 years ago where the new people coming into the scene start as fans and have no other life experience which dilutes the product because instead of basing shows off their own experiences, they're trying to mimic what they thought was good when they were younger with severely diminishing returns.

Geoff used to be a journalist in the army. Joel was an actor. Matt was already a producer in successful movies, Burnie was the manager of a call center for a decade.

Then with the second generation, Michael had a career as an electrician, Gavin created slow-mo guys which is way more successful than RT. Ray is Ray, he was good at video games. Even Barbara had a college degree and started the prototype RTX in Toronto. The new hires are fresh out of high school and have no life experience outside of being involved with Rooster Teeth. It shows, Gavin and Geoff admitted that every story from their past has already been told but that's the combination of having a life outside of RT and being on camera for over 10 years.

Of course. AT&T own Rooster Teeth and can carve it up to sell or merge with other business units however they see fit.

Rooster Teeth will be owned by a holding company controlled by Warner called "Bad Online Videos (Austin) LLC" or whatever. The mark who buys Rooster Teeth would do so from that company or it would be used to wind down Rooster Teeth's operations if they decide to shutter it. Any assets Warner wants to keep it can either retain within that holding company or create a special purpose company to assign them to before transferring to one of their other subsidiary legal entities.

It's pretty standard when companies are bought and sold

Here's the thing; RWBY is one of the very few IPs they really have, and one of the few that enjoyed any real success. Warner itself has cared little about the property outside of a few comics (like the currently running RWBY DC comic). But its the only property that Rooster Teeth can really fall back on that isn't dependent on onscreen personalities or someone else's IP (like Red vs. Blue). For there to be a chance in hell of an actual sale happening, RWBY would have to be part of the package, as the actual studio doesn't have much going for it.
