He's admitted multiple times he won't marry her because he's lazy. He just doesn't want to put in the work required to get married, including getting dressed up for a day. Apparently Meg always wanted the big wedding but then realized it was never happening so she started agreeing with him. That's probably part of what drove her to Ryan at first. At least he'd been down the aisle.
She also said she wanted kids but that hasn't happened yet either. Maybe Gavin's balls really don't work.
As mentioned, she did talk about it, but never revealed anything about their relationship. And I doubt it would ever come out unless she'd given birth to a kid who didn't have a gigantic nose.

The main issue with Ryan was allegedly one of the girls was underage. Whether that is true or not that is ultimately what got him in the most trouble. The other issue was he was apparently being pretty manipulative which while not illegal can still be pretty scummy.

Bernie divorcing his wife to be with Ashley is a tale old as time. It’s scummy, but at least he’s stuck to his current marriage with Ashley in all of this.
Ryan on the other hand fucked girls behind his wife’s back, and she now has to raise two kids whilst Ryan literally pays for his mistakes in alimony. Multitudes of people are suffering for Ryan’s mistakes.

Wasn’t Meg also the reason Ryan starting getting into shape? I remember him saying something like “meg has been making me go running with her” or something like that. Cause he was a bit pudgy in the beginning.
