I think if they launch a Second Life-esque game directed towards adults, it’ll be as much of a shitshow as Second Life itself, likely more so considering their incredibly piss-poor efforts at moderation. If they were to do that, they would need an experience way more refined than just “Roblox for adults”, which knowing just how badly they’re handling regular Roblox right now, I think they just need to wipe the slate clean and restructure so they can actually become something worthwhile. Nothing ever happens though, so I think they’ll just start perpetually circling the drain.

Logically, I don't think that would ever work. Nintendo almost got rid of the Luigi poker minigame from the release of Super Mario 64 DS because of gambling concerns even though you're just 'gambling' in-game currency.

(It got removed from some countries like South Korea or even had the game rating moved to being an "adult game" in other countries because of that single mini game that wasn't even the main feature.)

So many kids are putting real life money into in Roblox already.

And you know that people (the adult predators on Roblox that shouldn't even be on the platform *ahem*) are going to manipulate kids with that if there's a luck/chance-based gambling feature. Just like they already do with the allure of Robux gift cards.

When you admit that you're making an orgy pit for furfag perverts, that invites actual scrutiny, regulation, the need for age gating and ID confirmation, etc. All that costs money and time that could be better spent on whatever David Baszucki does for fun, and I hope I never find out what that is. They've been handsomely rewarded for doing what they're doing so far, so they're gonna keep doing it.

Roblox is a name tainted beyond belief. I hear radio ads pushing class action lawsuits against them, for crying out loud. You almost can't even mention the name without hearing a pedo joke.

The CEO handled what should have been an expected question very poorly. It is one that he is understandably sick of hearing, but when you're the face of such a company you have to put on your best behavior.
