Jim 'Mudcat' Grant, 1st Black 20-game winner in AL, dead at 85
Jim "Mudcat" Grant, the first Black 20-game winner in the American League and a key part of Minnesota's first World Series team in 1965, has died. He was 85.
Got screwed out of a Cy Young award in '65 because there was only one given out back then, not one per league, and Sandy Koufax was pretty disgusting that year - and even a bad Sandy Koufax was still the best pitcher of the era. Mudcat had more shutouts, at least, and was probably better in the World Series that year.
He was a hoopy frood.

My aunt met him once in Atlantic City in the 90s and he was relieved that she didn't ask him to squeal like a pig. He said people were always asking him to do the scene or they'd call out the line. Damn that must be annoying given the context of the scene itself.
I forgot he was in Silver Streak. I'm surprised that one hasn't been banned for the blackface stuff.

Happy Birthday to Lesane Parish Crooks, better known as Tupac Amaru Shakur!
Today would have been his 50th birthday, and just like B.I.G, it would have been interesting to see what he would be doing now if he were still alive.
Either way, everyone knows about ’Pac and what he did for rap music and Hollywood as a whole, so there’s not much to say that hasn’t been said already.
Personally, I thought his Me Against The World album was his magnum opus, since everyone only loved All Eyez On Me because he passed away.

Johnny Dee, the wheelchair-bound elderly ironic cover artist on YouTube who also played vidya with his wife, has apparently died this morning at 77. He was featured once on Pewdiepie's channel. IIRC he first became famous due to singing the Minecraft song Revenge.

Everything sucks. Why can't it be people from the show like Sandra Bernhard or Laurence Fishburn that no one really cares about that bite it instead of the cool ones like him or Phil Hartman?
