She was a open person about her drug addictions and mental illness. Not only that but she script doctored a few very well known movies, including Leathal Weapon 3.

I don't remember seeing this posted, and it may or may not count as a 2016 celebrity death, but Hunter B. Watson died in a car wreck on June 18 2016. He was 20.
