One of my personal favorites, guy had a 50+ year career spanning soul and r&b, to his Blowfly persona's obscenely hilarious parodies, practically inventing rap, and performing funk, disco, and punk rock, all with humorous sexual lyrics. Funny as hell and made some great party records.

The man was a legend, influenced many, and apparently was super nice to meet in person as well, I was always hoping he'd be in my area so I could see him perform live. He kept on touring and performing right 'til the end.

Sadly, he only lived about a week once they found he had liver cancer and multiple organ failure.

He had just released his final Blowfly album.

He was 76.
