How are they going to divide up those 70 episodes? Are they gonna do 7 seasons of 10? 5 of 14?

Declaring 70 in one go to me sounds like they're going to run out of ideas really quickly without a break in the seasons.

They're going to start ripping off famous science fiction stories and try to spin it as original. Get ready for Rick to start explaining the five rules of robotics.

I hope fans realize it's about to have the living shit commercialized out of it. This series will jump the shark soon, and slide downhill, like virtually every other adult swim cartoon.

(looking at you Seth McFatlane)

Eh. I enjoyed the first two seasons. The third season was when the writers started buying into their own hype and sniffing their own farts.

Everybody shits on season three because Shezschuan Sauce, people would've held it in the same regard if fans didn't rear their head and damage the show's reputation with their public tardom.

So they're going to turn into a exceptional sci-fi version of Venture Bros?

What are you talking about?

Rick and Morty is so fucking old now, and it's reputation is so tarnished, people will get sick of it 25 episodes in. Are you fucking kidding me? Is this Dan Harmon's doing? They should have fucking 86ed him and just black balled the whole thing and let it die with some fucking dignity. What are they, fucking Family Guy? I think fucking Family Guy would manage 70 more episodes better than Rick and Morty.

Its a fucking Adult Swim show. Outside of outside syndicated series and the occasional Aqua Teen or Sealab, the shows last for about 3 seasons burn out or wear out their welcome because theyre aboslutely hipster shit for college kids who are in that weird transition phase where theyre still young, impressionable, and love dumb humor, but they think theyre adults even though they love being told what to do, buying the literal flavor of the week -- these shows live hard and die fast. Their audience is literally like 19-22 year olds (even if the market calls it 18-25, the people marketing know what's up).

It's been like 4 years since Rick and Morty started, and theyve spent half of that time in limbo thinking theyre bigger than they are. How much more blood can you squeeze from the stone? 70 fucking episodes is like 5 or 6 more "seasons". Their audience has grown up and moved on, and the outsiders already have a bias of the show. Maybe it's funny but it's no longer the cool thing and it's not cool to like it. You've already wasted it, youll never get your Pickle Rick moment back again. Holy fuck, what a joke, and not the good kind.

This, this right here. Somebody give this person a medal.

I'm so glad I'm not the only person who sees this. Every single person I know who is fanatical about this show is either a) in this age group and has no idea who they are, so they use it as an identity crutch, or b) a neckbeard who uses it to feel smug about being "nihilistic" and "smarter than everyone else" because "muh science". This show is a lazy way for them to feel like they're learning something and smarter than everyone else. It panders to "smart guys" and creates an echo chamber for them to circle-jerk in for 22 minutes a week.

And it being the weakest season thus far.

Nah, "Rest and Ricklaxation" was the best one of the series so far. People rag on the staff for hiring women on the team because they think they're the ones responsible for Pickle Rick when Pickle Rick was Dan Harmon's idea. It's considered the weakest because everything around to make it look bad wasn't apparent the previous two seasons.

Exhibit A: "Look Who's Purging Now" was a season two episode.

I'm not sure the world will survive the vastly increased IQ.

Oh boy! Get ready for an increase of lazy shitty rick and morty cosplayers in your nearest convention!

Yeah, I could see the show having 70+episodes. Kind of like Futurama or Family Guy, but the real question is...

How long is it going to take fans to dislike the show and say it turned to shit like the Simpsons?

This show was never going to end at S3, anyway - lovely as that would have been, too. So, bring it on. Especially bring it on with the fans acting more exceptional than before. That, IMHO, is what's gonna be the best part of all of this, going forward. Not this show getting more episodes and getting worse as it goes along than it already has.
