🪦 Deceased Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka - Deadbeat (emphasis on "Dead") founder of Something Awful, forced out of his own community, on his second divorce, stuck his dick in crazy, "Birth Giver"

What worries me is either what appears to be fatalist behavior with Ashlii or an engrained pattern of just waiting to react to whatever Lowtax does instead taking the initiative.

Why did a cop have to put her in touch with local legal services? What has Ashlii been doing in the shelter the last two months? Waiting for Lowtax to file for divorce so he could have the upper hand? I mean some google and a few phone calls and she could have gotten her lawyer a lot earlier and filed first.

Sometimes in shitty relationships women become accustomed to just reacting to what their partner does instead of being proactive or taking their own initiative. Ashlii managed to gtfo out of the house but I hope her plan wasn’t then to “sit and wait for Lowtax to do something”

Please tell me sincx, how one can browse SA without be constantly reminded of "forum drama"?
Oh, he clicked and read, everyone who sees it will except all the goons who already read it because they lurk the thread.

If legal aide in MO is anything like it is where I'm from, she was probably waiting for a response from them and the cop nudged them to do so. I am surprised they took on a divorce case at all tbh.
Unfortunately that’s not the way the cop reported it in his notes, if that is the case. He didn’t say she’s waiting on or has requested legal assistance, but that he would help put her in touch with a place that can assist her in getting it because she had none.

The GFM lines up perfectly in this timeline, as if the police report and filings prompted her to finally seek counsel. She was told she would have to submit an application to see if she could qualify for a free lawyer, but if not she would need a few thousand to retain one. While waiting to see if she would be approved she started the GFM. She then updated it to say they had provided her with a lawyer at no cost, so any money raised would go towards new housing.

She isn't the brightest bulb in the box, but looks like a saint next to this idiot.

Good Cop (a woman, though her gender doesn't really matter) actually did all the work to get Ashli represented. Shelter #2 doesn't have legal aid services, but the Jackson county shelter does, and Cop went out of her way to contact them while Ashli asked her current shelter if that would be ok while she stayed there. After that Cop called Ashli back and asked for permission to give her contact info to the Jackson County shelter and of course Ashli said yes after clearing it with her shelter. Then Jackson County legal aid called Ashli and set her up with a lawyer.

No idea what exactly she's doing in there either with being legally unable to work, even though a toddler is a 24/7 job they do take naps and can play alone (supervised) for short periods and you can get stuff done. She's still coming out on top just by not being an insane junkie with LowT continually shooting himself in the foot.

Maybe she's a bit shell-shocked. I doubt the life in a shelter is so pleasant that she just forgot about doing anything. She was apparently living under the thumb of a manipulative Lowtax, and maybe of a harpy of a mother-in-law. Maybe they both abused her. It's not unheard of. Maybe she had to come to terms with some things. Although I wouldn't want to jump to her defense, I wouldn't necessarily say her inactivity after getting out of a bad situation is pure laziness.

It's pretty embarassing to what lengths goons go to protect an abusive pill-popper just to not lose their private clubhouse. Believe all women and fight the patriarchy, eh boys? Then they go and "cancel" some random dude because he made an edgy joke on twitter years ago. It's not about ideology, it's about wielding power and controlling a narrative, just like Lowtax apparently did over Ashli. I guess it's a goon dream come true.

My assumption is if Ashli's been slow to use resources, it's probably out of fear of deportation and being separated from her kid. Or she's just dumb, idk.
