Reorganization of September 29th, 2025

I found a feature that is so secret that even I didn't know about it. It's so hidden it's fucking preposterous. Why is this important functionality not a big button?

This menu is basically a lifehack to sort through the board and includes prefixes. Filtering by prefix here is the same as clicking on the tag.

Your active filters show up in the top-left in a very user friendly way that makes disabling them trivial. This works with date searches too.

If there was some way to put a scroll of all thread prefixes there so that you can 1-click to enable them, that would be a really excellent way to enable filtering. There's no way to accomplish this though. I think I will mod it in. A very elegant solution.
Given all the people whining about whether a thread should be in Lolcows or Beauty Parlor or Stinkditch or whatever, having a flat index of threads tagged with whatever prefixes apply to each thread sort of solves that. Mods would have to adjust to not having fiefdoms since users could be reaching a thread from any of the applied tags and whatever rule the mod-of-a-particular-tag thinks they're breaking may not be a rule under the-tag-the-user-clicked.

Would break down how different parts of the site have different users, which is double-edged, but probably would increase overall activity/discoverability.

This is Probably incredibly out there, but since you asked for feedback:
Sometimes it is very hard to get into a person of interest, despite the OP trying to be as exhaustive as possible, especially if it is within a cosmos of people with overlap like the Sektur or something similar. I was thinking, in a game I like to play "Shadows of Doubt" you are playing a detective and try to solve cases, so you have to learn a lot of information about several people. The game actually lets you make one of those pinboards where notes and pictures are connected via string. This makes it very easy to associate things with each other:

(These things can get very involved. I imagine one for someone as Chris Chan would be a enormous spider web)

Each note in a KF sense could be either a post or an attachment, with a short comment what it is about and how it related. I feel this would work very well to get a good overview about any given topic, highlight interesting things and feels very much in character for the forum and make it stand out a lot compared to similar sites.
No idea if the code you are using for this forum would be able to lift this, but maybe some food for thought!

Any suggestion for change? Ok. Shooting my shot.

There are many artists on the site. I think it would be neat if there was a user gallery. To avoid abuse, only those w/special permissions get access to the feature. True & Honest users only if you wanna be greedy lol.

I suggest this cuz in art communities not associated with KF, I have noticed a small handful of folk mention doing art for KF Secret Santa or other things. I think it could grow the site a little, but I understand this is not an art site. However, I know a few users who do art and it is hard to find their specific art posts in a thread. A gallery on their profile would make it easier to see.

It's probably a lot of (too much) work, but I thought it was worth suggesting. I used to browse art forums and boards before DeviantArt was a thing. Some of them had a gallery feature like that.

Maybe there could at least be a gallery of user elected art. Or maybe Null has a special badge that puts cool art he showed on MATI or is someway notable into a gallery on the front page. Idk.

Ignore if u hate this idea.

would it be possible to re-add dates and forums to the sidebar thread listings? I appreciate the amount of threads in there now, but the spacing is awkward and both the date of creation and the subforum it resides within would be very useful for locating threads I'm interested in after they disappear from the sidebar.

also, thank you very much for re-adding the individual forums to the bottom bar nool. it's greatly appreciated :heart-full:

Apologies if this was already asked earlier and I didn't see it, but with the reorganization I realized the iDubbbz & Anisa thread is still in the Beauty Parlour. Should their thread be moved out to regular Lolcows? It's always felt weird to me that it's there, like an outlier almost, and now IMO it feels like the thread would be better served with all the other lolcows (since most of the cows in Beauty Parlour are deathfats and deathfat-adjacent) but maybe there was/is a warranted reason for them being there that I'm just retarded and missing.

if you want to grow the site itself and promote discussion and communities. You need to have a section easily outlined dedicated for new users to understand what the fuck is going on or what they're looking at. There's several threads that are mandatory reading like how to properly attach pictures so they don't expand the ever living shit out of the page, but we need all of that in an easy to digest section that blasts in your face as a new user CLICK HERE FAGGOT where people unfamiliar with the farms can get their bearings. I think this won't get in the way with the amount of people who are retarded and won't read anything as it is that still come in to brigade or request a PA. (Which is hilarious)

Something about all of us retards rubbing our one collective brain cell together to improve our favorite place on the internet is so cozy to me

If you're looking for suggestions on change, I think sports should be it's own section, category outside health and fitness, given that the conversations in sports threads are moreso about watching them rather than playing them. I think if sports threads weren't inside a category as niche as health, the threads would prolly get more traffic
