Nothing Reddit does is organic, so someone is paying or pushing for this. I saw in a few places people suggesting it is BlueSky bots doing it and Reddit jannies are more than willing to help. I went in a few subreddits and yeah a lot of the top posters are either newer accounts or posters that have never posted in the subreddit before.
 
The mods of r/chess, fearing they may anger Bobby Fischer from beyond they grave, have opted to not ban Twitter links.

These retards and the childfree tards are something else. But nothing is more perverted and creepy as the antis like this. A lot of people don't remember but these ideologies, at least the faddish modern progressive children version of it, got started at places like Gaia Online. They had a whole sub form for these people. Mostly made up of the feminist wings of the site and forums. They would just sit in their little club and utterly seethe at everything and anything you could imagine. A character risking their life for their child.. caring more about their child than literally anything else etc. Sad and pitiful children. Even worse to find out that some of them never outgrew it upon growing up. (assuming these aren't all just later gens)

Let me be more specific, there's a whole genre of MAGA porn. It's a lot of raceplay (sometimes complete with slurs), 'roided jocks and girl-next-door stuff, the white guy in the red cap (usually) on top. Slight majority of it is gay. Don't look it up.

I'd love for another Reddit blackout. I'd bet they've convinced themselves that it would never happen again. Just seeing all those sanctimonious jannies purity spiralling while the communities they imagined they were safeguarding telling them how much they hated them - when they weren't blubbering about how Reddit was all they had as they got shitcanned.

If that happens because Elon did a spastic one-armed dab, he can hire all of Bangladesh to rank-boost if he wants.
 
I’d be thrilled to be proven wrong, but I don’t see how this is going to finally damn Reddit, or change much at all honestly. It looks like most subreddits are advocating for only allowing screenshots from Twitter and banning links to it. Aren’t Twitter screenshots half of all Reddit content on any given day anyways? Actual external link posts fell off a decade ago, which is all the more reason why no one there ever reads any linked articles or papers on the site and just comments on how the post’s title makes them feel instead.
