I saw some story of some guys in prison who made homemade mtg cards using notebook paper and pens provided by the prison, taped them to the regular playing cards and played using those. They made them mostly from what they remembered from the cards.

Sounds like a good way to pass time in prison

I don't think some GI bill money is going to be enough to pay for a Dutch uni; which are not only very expensive for foreigners since you'll need to pay full pot, but also very, very competitive and have limited entrances each year. (at least TU Delft). And then there is the expensive standard of living; the high rent prices, the staggering cost of a train ticket.

It's fucking surreal. My favorite are the people claiming they need to move to the EU because of Roe v Wade or whatever and they don't realize that abortion on demand is not really a thing in most of Europe.

Plus you would think that moving to another state would be easier than trying to secure a work visa.

I saw this post, scrolled away, then scrolled back up and reread it, then scrolled away, then did the whole cycle again.
I don't know why, but this one post bugs me even more than some of the more insidious things we've seen here, and I think it's because of how myopic and "I'm helping" it is.
Like, I'd feel bad for the guys in prison who had to attend the first retard's session for good-boy points and a chance to get away from Shankville Central Station. I'd feel even worse for the women in the second case. I woman trying to rebuild her life isn't going to want to sit down at a table and play make-believe. She's going to want to either chill the fuck out, or take actual productive steps to make things better.
DnD and other roleplaying games are for people who have their basic needs met, and I don't think a lot of people in that world realize that fact. I get the appeal, I do, but at the same time what's fun for you isn't going to be fun for everyone else, and at worst it can be painful, boring, or even just downright infuriating.
