Says it's both a traumatic experience and also one of the worst weeks of his life....yet he had the time and thought to put on a movie so not "I can't eat and want to die" traumatic. Likely something bigger then his cat dying but less then finding out he has weeks to live. Maybe he lost a parent? It's odd for Jay to be vulnerable at all (normally he'd say look at this movie and not even mention having a traumatic week) and people tend to do that when they have a personal void that needs filling. I'm betting he had a partner of some kind and they left in a very traumatic way. People open up when their heart has been ripped out. That or he knocked someone up and they miscarried.
