They used to spool up reels while the film was spinning for changeovers. Maybe we should have higher standards again.
You clearly have no idea what handling IMAX film is like compared to 35mm.

An IMAX platter is massive, and you’d basically need two full projector rigs to handle multiple-platter features.

That would be insanely expensive for the extremely small number of films that would use it.

I'm working out something remembered here, so I might be off, but did anyone claim that NTO is the 1st all-IMAX movie? That has to be with a bunch of qualifiers, right? --bc IMAX has been making content for its outlets since the beginning.

Something I've noticed RLM do lately which is getting tiresome is them bringing up random comments or Rotten Tomatoes from anonymous nobodies, usually reviews or comments with either "this is woke garbage" or whatever.

Even this one had some random guy decrying the wokeness. It just seems... lazy. Especially compared to when they actually critiqued large media companies pumping out pro-studio slop (Nerd Crew)

Anyway, I'm skeptical this will be some financial hit like Jay thinks

This was the first video of theirs I thought was pretty lame and their takes were just kind of braindead, I don't expect them to say that they shouldn't have put blacks in the movie but to try to justify it that it was a "fake story" was pretty lame, they didn't even seem very confident in calling it a good movie. But it's whatever, Best of the Worst is their good content anyway.

Their recent reviews lack focus and direction. Half in the bag was always freeform to some degree but they ultimately have little to say about modern cinema. Even this movie which they like, there is ultimately little to inspire the imagination from this movie and as such lead discussion.

They seem to be more and more apathetic to movie quality as time goes on. I notice a lot of their reviews of theatrical releases are just "It's just a movie, who cares?" Modern HitB seems kind of listless.

I think my irritation with their takes on movies spiked when they said I Saw the TV Glow was good.

Jack Packard has an idea for The Odyssey (a):

Thats a really good way to put it.

I mean what was nerd crew suspose to be anyway?
An IRONIC pastiche of shows that look like that. IRONY being the key word here because it was the only thing that set RLM apart from the original. In their minds, at least.

IRONIC costumes
IRONIC facial expressions
IRONIC plastic garbage for kids
IRONIC discussion
IRONIC ad revenue and Patreon subs

I watched literally the first 10 seconds of the first episode and nope'd out. The worst thing they've ever done by far, in my opinion.

Yesterday I saw a police cam recording in which the police put out a fire on the exterior of some office building in Wisconsin. When they had finished, a young man drove up to the premises and said that it was he who had set the building on fire. Apparently, it was a form of protest against the ban on tiktok, and the building in question was the office of some congressman who had voted for the ban.

Do you guys remember that they started their review of The Odyssey by commenting on the Canadian forest fires? Now imagine what would have happened had they said that The Odyssey was shit. They have a pretty large following on reddit.

Give them ole geezers a break.

Note that they devote their "review" to emphasizing why people should feel obligated to see the movie, with relatively little sharing of what they personally enjoyed about the film that might earn a recommendation from them.

This was a strange review; if they wanted to give a positive review without actually watching the movie, the review would've been just like this.

If they’re going to be cowards, but they aren’t, they’re true believers because they want to be in with the in crowd, I say let the fuckers burn.
