George always loves that negro art. Reminds of Roger Ebert that always favored it, and both had big fat black wives.

But hell, he outlived Marcia so good on him. I remember on a Spoony stream way back someone said 'George Lucas died' and he stopped it and was wait whaatt, then found out it was a joke and banned them.

This is Spoony in a nutshell. He took himself too seriously and would not admit he's been had. I can't imagine him being anything like his video persona in real life, even when he was at his happiest. I wonder where he's getting money these days. Welfare?

He lives with his brother Miles, who is probably fairly high up the chain now at his police job. He likely has inheritance money too. If anything he should be given some credit for not nonstop tweeting about his life like he did for over a decade. I wouldn't be surprised if he's on some mental disability too, but last time he did talk about personal stuff was a year or so ago and aid he didn't have medical insurance.

Can't believe they blind picked that weird fucking 3DCG movie that was Sean Connery's last film, guess I'll finally get to see what that abomination is about.
Funny enough, Mike said that he thought that the goat character was voiced by Simon Pegg, when it actually voiced by Alan Cummings according to Wikipedia, other notable names on that page are in Voice Actors, music, and editing as well if you check it out. Even more interesting, is that it was directed, written, and produced by a husband and wife team that also wrote the book, that is was based on, because apparently it was based off a book. And the husband and wife team, don't even have a page on Wikipedia for either one of them.

Also since no one, has mentioned it on this thread, the main kid in Present Time is the same kid who was on another Christian thing that being the TV show McGee and Me!. Also according to IMBD (and take this with a grain of salt) but the reason why it only lasted three episodes is this:

The series was cancelled after one of the lead actresses, Tara Streeter was mauled by a lion on set. The production was immediately halted, but ultimately the 3 episodes filmed were released with footage of the lion limited to cutaway shots. Tara suffered life changing injuries and quit the film industry.

Dayam. So the movie really was more like ROAR . Suddenly that cutaway gag to those movie clips seems a lot more sinister...

Backrooms HiTB

Actually a pretty interesting discussion from what I’ve seen so far. Some fun intergenerational play, seeing early YouTubers sort of adapt to the new reality of internet nonsense being accepted into the mainstream and succeeding, long after their own peak as the trendy online kids, and Jay still looking fiiiine.

The cuts to Kane being an absolute sperg in promotional interviews is also great and I approve of the bullying.

I’m pretty sure the Kane promo interviews were edited by the HACK FRAUDS to make Kane and that bald interviewer seem crazy, no?

It took a few minutes on this to realize they had greenish/yellow color tinted it. The Chris Hansen one looks like it'll be a hoot too.

ETA: omg they finally really talked about Shelby Oaks on this. Stuckmann's virtually disappeared since, well deserved too.

Plesantly surprised they made a full HitB on it. Expected them to talk about it in an end of year catch up vid along with Iron Lung. Happy to see they enjoyed it.

No one would've been as hard on Stuckmann if he didn't become a literal shill in hopes his movie would take off. Shelby Oaks would've have to been a 10/10 for people with an above room temperature IQ for that to pay off. Meanwhile Kane Parsons just seems like a chill, slightly autistic zoomer obsessed with the Backrooms. And he made a superior movie, although not perfect. Even taking the quality of each movie out, I'd rather support the latter at least as a first attempt.

The genuine appreciation for the film despite the generational gap and not being connected to the source of it, but still getting a lot out of the writing and imagery made me want to see it more than anything else I’ve seen around it before. That and the positive stance on a new generation making films for a new generation that are able to be appreciated as art by old fogeys is kind of heartwarming.

I'm just finishing it now and I'm really impressed by that. Actual optimism that the next generation might recover from all the shit we've dealt with from 2016-2022 or so through movies. This video might be the one where they 'grew up' and matured and became self aware. This year they've really done a lot of good videos. These guys are by far the best and longest lasting channel that is still going from early Youtube.

That was good insight too about how horror is is based on current events too. We've always known sci-fi is a reflection of that, but I really didn't make the Vietnam/Texas Chainsaw and 9/11 on the body horror right after. It was obvious that Battlestar Galactica 2004 was very 9/11 inspired but not so much horror. Good job RLM.
