I somehow managed to download this video with JDownloader before it got age restricted (only watchable when you're logged in and I can't register an account), so I didn't have to use y2matego.com for once. I only realized this because I wanted to check the comments. They've really been doubling down on ruining Youtube those past couple of months, it's getting ridiculous.

I agree that we lost out on the best tapes, and I'm having trouble getting through this episode even at 1.5 [correction: 1.75] speed. I keep taking breaks, too, because it's such a slog, so that doesn't help. It's almost 2 hours long, and it's TRS-ing my patience.

They ask why the Youtube bots don't tell video creators the time stamps that got their videos flagged and it's hard to believe they can still be so naive in 2025. They don't tell you so the Youtube overlords can wield the possibility of demonetization or bans as a weapon and keep everyone in a permanent state of fear of making anything that could possibly be construed as offensive.

And it works great. Everybody who makes Youtube videos has lived in constant terror for a decade now.

It was pathetic enough to hear that Yahtzee (or his handlers?) were crying about the dreaded youtube algorithm ruining the channel (even though it's just that the content sucks ass I'm sure)

Now to see that Jack went crying to his buddies about it is even more pathetic.

The video description makes me laugh. I've been completely tuned out from RLM for the better part of two years and even after I unsubbed from them 6 months ago ALL their videos seemingly still pop up for me in some fashion that I'm at least aware of them if not watching them for five minutes to see if I'll like what they're talking about. So this shit clearly does not effect them.

Yeah they've managed to break yt-dlp again for age-restricted videos with the recent changes and I'm getting fuckin' pissed. JDownloader2 at least still manages to handle the cookie-based sessions correctly enough to fetch those (yt-dlp seems not to be able to grab age-restricted videos even with valid cookies furnished anymore).

It can't possibly be a big enough chunk of their user base using alternative viewers that it's worth Youtube going to these ongoing efforts to thwart us. It doesn't work -- the pissier I get about it the more tools I throw at it until I get what I want from the damned thing. I'll never watch one of their ads again, no matter what they do.

Maybe if Jack actually fired useless eaters and found good content creators someone would watch his gay nepo baby zombie stillborn channel.

It's all so tiresome and hypcritical. If you are a 100K+ channel you don't need the algorithm to get a consistent view count, you just have a zombie channel. And it's a zero sum game that YouTubers won't dare to say where those missing views go (though seeing modern trends they'd probably say AI content rather than legacy media and smaller creators).

Maybe if someone did the legwork so show what's happening rather than this voodoo bullshit of "maybe something happens but we won't commit to finding out!".

HIlariously, Jack is one of the shitty bottom feeder nepobabies on Second Wind. It's been discussed in the Yahtzee thread for a while how ridiculous it is that he lets these hangers on surround him and leech money from the channel all because he's too fucking lazy to manage his own channel or simply find an editor and a real manager to handle the business shit(both of these professions exist and plenty of other channels do them). Instead he's glued to the hip of Nick Calandra calling the shots and paying idiots like Jack.

You're definitely in the minority. I know people who still to this day don't even use ad blockers. At least you still have an account, which I can't say for myself (long story).

I hope RLM have some friends at Youtube because if their channel gets nuked overnight for whatever stupid reason, they're DONE.

It's super gay to keep mentioning Jack's channel or group or whatever that shit is, but YouTube has fucked the algorithm the past week or two. Everyone I'm subscribed to has gotten 1/3rd to a half less views. Even long time mainstays like AVGN and David Firth have gotten way less views with their main series, like we are talking bottom of the barrel views. I didn't even get the new Salad Fingers in my feed, and there's tons of people reporting that new stuff from channels they regularly watch isn't showing up in their feeds.

It's like the whole disaster with the bell again, but there's no bell to click. You think it would be simple enough for youtube to just show the shit you subscribed to, but I guess the pajeet overlords know what you want to watch better than what you literally clicked subscribe to.

exactly its communism 101, if you give people direct solid information suddenly they learn the specifics and play "go as close to the edge without going over" like every cartoon in the 90s and shrek seemed to do.

its also shows how out of touch 2nd wind and these guys are that they're talking about this now instead of a decade ago. the adpocalypse fucked over so many creators and it was so huge that only talking about demonetization now just shows how out of touch you are, its like how South Park only now is talking about trump, you're a decade behind the culture.
