Joe Dante was behind so many of my childhood favorites. Thought it seems they all fell on the second part of the video. I'm surprised the burbs didn't wind up on the lower list but I'm totally fine with that. I think the Burbs is really fun.

Oh wait, no, explorers did end up on this one. But at the very top so I'm cool with it. Loved Explorers, like Jay said, at that age it's the perfect kid's fantasy. I agree that even as a kid I thought the alien ship was was a let down.

Interesting decision by RLM to get an actual murderer invited for this year's Halloween episode:

WifeKiller'sBack.webp

Wait, Patton is coming back?
A wheel of the worst? After he bitched about the bad movies in Plinketto now he's going to do a wheel?

Admittedly they can probably stack the wheels with short videos that way Patton doesn't have to sit through 6 hours of garbage. I'm just shocked he's back because he genuinely seemed like he hated his time there.

He's another Star Trek actor hey can have on to look more prestigious. "Patton Oswalt was never in Star Trek!" I can hear you say. That's where you're wrong, very, very wrong.

You could tell Rich was holding himself back from drowning Jay in a tsunami of Mel's Hole lore. Based Rich Evans, classic Coast to Coast AM enjoyer

I never took Rich for a Coast to Coast fan, but I am very happy to learn it.

The combination of Rich and Jay is probably my favorite pairing. Their Carpenter retrospective is one of my favorite mini-series they have done. It's nice to see two people discuss films they love and not hear a 15 minute long monologue about how they could improve it or what they would have done in the sequel.

Funny that Rich is such a hylic and makes fun of Mike's ghosts but is an Art Bell appreciator.
Rich Evans has a weird array of interests that he tries to play down for some reason, in the Popeye Re:Visit he's agreeing with Jay in how nobody remembers the property anymore, and i believe just seconds later he's educating him on when was the first strip published, what was Popeye's first actual appearance, info on obscure characters from the strips, how much he watched this movie during his childhood... Only to cap it all with a meek "...I kinda like Popeye..."

A sizable amount of us that listened to Art Bell and read things like Weekly World News have zero belief in the supernatural, but enjoyed the safe space it provided so that every loon with a story could talk about whatever the hell they wanted to. I liked it partially because the caller believed it, and I could see Rich thinking ghosts are stupid, but still listening to the annual ghost to ghost am special.

RLM's problem is falling for mystery box storytelling and not doing their jobs as critics because of Lucas derangement syndrome.
Holy necro quote but just getting caught up on the thread and this is the biggest (yet still small) complaint I have of Mike and Jay (primarily Jay) as critics.

Jay is exactly the mystery box consuming faggot that the shit is made for and he never seems to learn to spot it. He was a Lost superfan and even live watching that I realized quickly into season 2 that it was all a bunch of bullshit that would never have any payoff. Jay admits he was fooled to the final episode. Then again he falls for it with TFA, which is made by the same fucking guy that got him with Lost. Still doesn't spot it, gives the thing a glowing review.

Okay, falling for it twice, anyone can be suckered twice, right? No. He's fallen for it again by being a 'From' fan which is just a Lost ripoff, coincidentally with the main character also being a Lost main character.

I liked this Junka.

I was a little embarrassed with myself for laughing along with the RLM crew during the dog birth video. It reminded me of a time when I was a kid, and I was staying home from school, sick with the flu. I turned the TV on, and the kennel club dog show happened to be on. I wondered whether it was my fever-addled brain or if the announcers really kept saying the word "bitch".

Josh2.0 seemed to have fun in this episode, too. I know he's very talented with his mimicry, but I just don't find the voices particularly entertaining, so I'm glad that they didn't stack the deck like they did in a previous one of his episodes and instead just let him enjoy the tapes.
