There comes a time in your life when at a certain age, you feel you need to somehow not be in the same place you've been for 20 years.

They're not as popular as they were 10 years ago, so now they need some way of identifying themselves as "the old guard".
 
I could be wrong, but didn't Mike say that they did specifically go to the theater in the morning when there was practically nobody there? They deliberately went out of their way to ensure the best chance of a good movie experience like you guys suggested, only to be thwarted by a single fucking retard that never learned to chew with his mouth closed showing up by chance. And honestly, I can relate to the frustration of someone constantly, repetitively making loud crunching sounds every few seconds during a fairly quiet movie; that would be just distracting enough to take me out of the film.

Honestly, I'd chalk it up to living in Milwaukee, or any major city for that matter. People in the comments tend to talk about how their experiences aren't anywhere near as bad as theirs seem to be on a regular basis, but when you realize they're in a major city with a well-represented "urban market," honestly, it makes a lot of sense. Cities suck, who could have seen that coming?
 
IIRC this is a long time thing they have complained about, and honestly I aint never had a cinema experience ruined or even impacted by loud assholes or idiots so I can't really judge one way or anuddah how bitter-old-manny it is

This is the kind of shit that always becomes an immediate "turnoff" for me with YouTubers/content creators.

Sure, the RLM guys aren't the filmmakers they were probably hoping to become at this stage in their lives ... But they have gained some fame and recognition over the years, and they get paid well just for making videos on YouTube. That's more than so many other people have these days.

The "woe is me, YouTube is stressful" shit just pisses me off. Comes across as incredibly whiny, ungrateful, and insanely out of touch. Lots of people in this thread are calling them old farts, but honestly their rants as of late come across as infantile to me.

Doug Walker wins again, I guess. lol. He constantly expresses gratitude for the way he's able to make a living, even if he is forever "stuck" as the Nostalgia Critic.

I started watching the corridor crew vfx reacts recently, and their positivity and energy has been a breath of fresh air. It's been really interesting to learn about how particular shots were achieved in modern and even old films. Sure, they do annoying shit with the subscribe and corridor digital shit, and they are always overly positive on shit cgi. But I get that, they don't want to shit on fellow artists, particularly if the jank was caused by time or cost issues not the capability of the artist.

The other point of comparison, is that the corridor guys have actually made shit. I haven't watched any of their shows, but I've watched the clips of them re-creating famous CGI shots using modern methods, and how the original shot was done to show how things of improved, and how much work went into those shots. I really enjoy that.

Have, RLM haven't created anything since space cop? They really need to do something to refind that energy.
 
While I get some ass chewing loudly with their mouth open in a quiet movie is irritating, but at the same time I can't help but think Mike and Jay might just be jaded towards movie theaters in general and are looking for something to complain about.

They've gone on about how miserable of an experience movie making is, but i agree with you, it might be refreshing to try and make something again, and im talking something serious - a passion project, not the usual cynical, self aware "intentionally bad" skits to hide their insecurities behind in.

Easier said than done, but having a goal, or something to work towards is a great motivator in life

Having seen the film couple hours ago I can say, this is accurate. Robert eggers makes fantasy films which masquerade as period pieces. This one, even if it was fucking awesome, had some issues with the period piece part. Not crippling issues but very visible ones, most of my gripes with the movie come in that section. It also tries to be faithful to the murnau film and I've seen that thrice, it's one of my favourite horror films, there are exact sequences and parts which are copied but somehow done worse or are overstated/overstimulating. The northman is still the best eggers movie though but nosferatu is much better than the lighthouse, which I really hated.
 
I thought it was a pretty alright episode, this frame and their reaction to it got me.

Apparently he's an impressionist who's done voicework on a ton of shows like Family Guy and Robot Chicken whenever they need a celebrity voice impersonated

I'd literally never heard of him despite no doubt hearing his voice countless times

Ngl I agree. I know it's petty but I'm also someone who is hyper sensitive to even the slightest sounds and sights which ruin my immersion.
