Everything these days is "yeah, it was okay. Actually, it was fine... good even! People should enjoy the slop." on HiTB. Do you think if Ghostbusters 2016 came out today they would hand-wave it as fine?
No. Above all RLM thinks of themselves as comedians even above filmmakers. Like that Jerry Seinfeld joke, galbusters was more offensives to comedians than any other group. Even the most average slop out there nowadays is doing slightly better at delivering jokes than than galbusters did.

That's the problem with being a professional critic. You see so much shit that you give out prizes for the most basic decency.

This includes Terminator Dark Fate, Charlie's Angels 2019, Tomb Raider 2018, Ghost in the Shell 2017, RE: Welcome to Raccoon City, Oceans 8, Netflix Death Note, Batwoman, Rings of Power, every other capeshit or Star Wars movie or show.

People will defend absolutely obvious cashcow trash and get mad over anyone who would say anything bad about them. Chris Cuckman is a complete and total example, a prime consoomer who will defend goyslop.

This is simultaneously the best and worst promotional idea ever.

Upcoming Videos (July 2022)

And we're back! Sorry, we were off doing mundane behind the scenes work for a bit there, but we have a video we're working on now that required quite a bit of research and preparation. It's another "reading a list of things to Rich" video but a little bit different this time and it actually relates to movies. The video isn't ABOUT the movie Shark Exorcist, but Shark Exorcist is brought up in the discussion. That will be coming next!
Then we're planning on seeing Oppenheimer and also doing a Best of the Worst spotlight soon as well. That will then lead in to us hopefully having a special guest come out (and hopefully more guests later in the year if everything works out!).

I guess... it's about all the different types of Shark movies out there?

Maybe they're going to talk about the filmography of the director of Shark Exorcist?

What Shark Exorcist taught me about films is that 1) it's important that the camera is visible in as many shots as possible, and 2) hearing the director-slash-cameraman breathe heavily can only help a film be the best it can be

Boo. Spotlights are by far my least favorite BotW. They would be fine if they didn't eat up the slot of the once-a-month-ish release of BotW, but they do so it always feels like you're getting so much less than the norm.

Depends which ones.
Suburban Sasquatch, Last Vampire on Earth and Lycan Colony are pretty good videos.
I agree those are all good ones, but it's more the exception than the rule. Relying too heavily on a single movie in the BotW format makes it super dependent on if it's good or not and gets rid of the surprise factor of them experiencing something new that often creates the best moments, especially since there are 3+ chances. It also makes sense they spotlighted the best ones first as is evident in the three you posted being early examples and as they go on they are going to pick ones that they have less standout moments and personal attachment.

Wheel > Black Spine > Plinketto = Standard > Spotlight

Jay's hair is literally now early 1980's kidzone/diff'rent Strokes' white kids'. It's amazing.

Edit: Jay's doing what made me stop watch 'Goodbadmovies'. He's throwing his hands into his hair, over and over. Next he'll be dying his nails black too while whisking his hair.
