I'm calling it, Michael will be defeated by the power of love in Halloween Ends.

It's established at the end of Halloween Kills that Michael has transcended beyond something that can be killed with brute force.

Love is the only way to stop him now.

I hope it's as dumb as it sounds.

Think dumber, more preachy.

Even that kind of ends up debatable because one thing the movie doesn't explain is what the aliens are doing that's so bad.

I'm glad it didn't, because all you need to know in They Live is that ugly, stinking aliens are crawling all over our planet and Rowdy Roddy Piper is gonna give them a beat down. The movie wouldn't be better if it was more specific than vague messages about obedience, consoomerism, and Earth being the aliens' third world.

The Matrix got into the nitty gritty of why the bad guys wanted to enslave humanity, and it was gay and dumb

Originally before rewrites, it wasn't even supposed to be using humans as batteries, but because of their brains running the Matrix and all the systems the machines needed to exist. They basically beat everyone to cloud computing. Furthermore in Reloaded, they lampshaded geothermal power. The machines never needed humanity. The Matrix was always a convincing prison for their sins.

Edit: I'm not even going to discuss the flawed logic behind the machines basically having no future besides being the stewards to the species that nearly wiped them out; and every goal being on maintaining their power source, but at the end of the day, it's a motivator.

The original idea of cloud computing was better.

Explanations don't always have to be given, but hints can be employed. I'm not even saying you're wrong, just that if one wanted to play contrarian they could build a solid case from the film's text that Roddy is psychotic.

(Heck once you establish a theme of hidden propaganda in the movie, you can then start down rabbit holes of "how do we know the glasses are telling the truth? What if it's a different kind of brainwashing" - there's numerous Outer Limits episodes along those lines.)
