I have decided that I want to use a display without a backlight because it is easier on the eyes. All of my monitors are around 15 year old and I have not spent more than $5 on any of them, so I assumed that I could find a reflective LCD for a similar price. I tried looking up "reflective LCD", and found this:

Why the fuck are all of these displays $1000?
I don't need the latest and greatest, so maybe I will just go with something used. Or at least that is what I wanted to do. However, I cannot find used reflective LCD monitors anywhere.
I have heard of combining a laptop display with something called a driver board in order to turn it into a computer monitor, so I thought of doing that with a reflective LCD. The only laptops with reflective LCDs that I can find are a few with Pixel Qi displays, which have a color transmissive mode and a black&white reflective mode. However, those displays (combined with the driver board) get sold for $200. That is still way too much to pay for a 15 year old display that is monochrome when it is set to reflective mode.
Does anyone know of any other, cheaper, reflective LCDs that I can buy? I'm not really sure where else to look unless I search up a bunch of random Reflective LCD panels and hope that I eventually find one with a driver board available.

I don't know any cheap LCD displays that are easy on the eyes but if you find one please share.
