⏳ Historical Rebecca Kay Watson / Skepchick - The Reason Why We Can No Longer Have Nice Things

I’m not surprised since Dawkins was the same guy who defended “Mild” Pedophilia a bit back, but as people have said it seems like she only found this out through her hatred of men and it only fueled that hatred even more.
Child rapists are the exact kind of thing that make women hate men all of the time. Did you think about the words you typed as you typed them?

Didn't she also claim she had some extremely rare and selective (as in, fake) form of neurological condition that impeded her from recognizing faces, sometimes, and therefore she couldn't tell who the elevator coffee guy was, making the entire incident likely to have been completely fabricated?
Prosopagnosia, or face blindness, is real and actually super common in autists, so it's not that rare. Ask me how I know. Face individual identity recognition: a potential endophenotype in autism
Not sure if she has autism, though. She has an interview with Sanjay Gupta about it, too: How Do You Recognize a Face?

If she had gone to have the coffee at 4am and then complained he just tried to have sex with her, you’d call her a dumb cunt for not realising the coffee was a euphemism for sex, but here it suits you to play retard and immediately defend some random man you’ve never met who waits until he’s in an enclosed space before asking a woman to be alone with him.
I'm gonna step out on the strongest, least-dangerous limb on this fucking planet and point out that asking a woman to spend time alone with you for sex and/or other purposes (with a "coffee" pretense or not) isn't actually wrong or inappropriate unless she's underage, your student or employee, or you otherwise enjoy some form of authoritative advantage over her, and you've done nothing wrong whatsoever otherwise, even if she says no, so long as you accept that "no" and move on. Not taking "no" for an answer is the misbehavior -- not just asking in the first place.

JFC people, how do you think we all got here? Men and women glaring at each other with deep suspicion from across the roads with no physical contact?

Wait wait wait wait wait, so this woman who was accused of being a feminist hag trying to cancel a good man was actually aware of the Epstein trafficking and trying to investigate it? I remember this scandal clearly, I remember the outcome was men talking about how they're afraid to stand in elevators with women.
A very big stretch.
She was only onto Epstein because he was donating to Dawkins and not to her.
If Epstein had written her a $15,000 check she would have been zero gag reflex felating him in public.

Didn't she also claim she had some extremely rare and selective (as in, fake) form of neurological condition that impeded her from recognizing faces, sometimes, and therefore she couldn't tell who the elevator coffee guy was, making the entire incident likely to have been completely fabricated?
You are correct. The evidence that Elevatorgate never happened vastly outweighs the possibility it never did. I mean good that she made pedoenablers sweat, but that was not her goal.
If it was, she wouldn't be backing trannies.

The only credit I will give Rebecca Watson on this one is that she was smarter than all of them to call out associating with a pedophile after he had been convicted.
though counterpoint: She's now running interference for trannies, so has switched to all-in on enabling pedo rapists.

Child rapists are the exact kind of thing that make women hate men all of the time.
See above.

No but you see he approached her in an elevator, which is an inescapable room that definitely doesn't stop on the next floor if you hit the button until someone has been raped. Elisha Otis originally called his invention "the Safety Motile Rape Dungeon" before it was suggested he should change the name by P.T. Barnum to the "Safety Elevator" (in order to trick more women to enter so they could be raped, of course)

According to Rebecca, he politely propositioned her and went on his merry way when she declined. I'm sure she would have mentioned it if he got angry or tried to rape her when she said no. If this was just something she made up she could have at least added some details about his creepiness, like him being smelly, blocking the door, getting angry, touching her. You know, anything? People would probably be more sympathetic if that were the case. But in the official story as told, the guy doesn't even do anything wrong. That's why it got the reaction it did.

Especially when the New Atheism conventions of that era were well known dens of depravity, where you'd have lame-ass, smug panel discussions spouting pseudo-science bullshit (like Greg Laden saying that male brains were just female brains poisoned by testosterone) during the day before fucking off to the hotel bar, getting near-comatose drunk, and then heading upstairs to fuck anything with a pulse.

Becky knew that scene well. She just got approached by a man she DIDN'T want approaching her. Had Chad Thundercock asked her to come to his room for coffee, she'd have grabbed him by the dick and led  him away.

Indeed. The difference between "harmless flirting" and "sexual harassment" is almost always a function of how attractive the woman thinks the guy flirting with her is.

@No. 7 cat When it comes to Pinker and Dawkins and a few other atheist thought leaders, yes they were invited to events with Epstein and were offered free rides on Epstein's private jet. In the one photo on the jet you see an older woman sitting on one of the gentleman's lap. I assume that is his wife. I also assume there wasn't any underage hanky-panky going on at least that flight.

Epstein invited all sorts of influential people over for dinners and to his island. Or gave them free rides on his jet. Or let some people, such as comedians, crash at one of his homes. Not all of them were involved in sleeping with the women.

Epstein was clearly looking to use these people for whatever he could get out of them. Maybe it was utilizing them as a connection and prestige to make himself look respectable and drag in more powerful and influential people.

I am sure he would try to offer the chance to sleep with one of his girls be her of age of consent, or if he could get away with it, slip in a minor. Or maybe a massage. Or if nothing else leave them alone with a girl and smear them later if he needed to with accusations. All of this had blackmail potential.

Blackmail for personal uses. Blackmail for intelligence agency uses. Access to favors.

And of course all of these scientific academics were jumping at the chance to meet with Epstein. He was one of the few non-governmental funding sources available. That funding meant a lot to academics, but was chump-change to Epstein.

Did any of these people sleep with any of his girls or minors? Without evidence or someone ratting them out, we will never really know.

That was the trap of Epstein. If he went down, everyone he had ever had any association with was going to go down with him.

She was on a podcast I used to listen to and her role seemed be say nothing until the other male hosts say something benign and correct them

Host:After Dr Gill finished his study he moved to Rome with his wife

Rebecca: his wife did she happen to have a name outside of her relationship to him

The thing is the host never said anything "offensive" so she'd randomly choose something to remind the audience that in fact these misogynist in waiting.

I'm glad I randomly see her on a dead YouTube channel were she weighs in on stuff as if it's still 2016

Even if she did, it would just mean she didn't recognize the guy if she had met him before not that she completely hallucinated it.

Least surprising Watson factoid this week.

And since it's tangentally related to Rebecca, Lawrence Krauss also seemed to be trying to set up a playdate for Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller to meet Epstein too. Krauss said to Epstein of Penn's wife, Emily:
Emily is great.. she is too old for you though.. even though she is quite nice
Even if we assume there was absolutely no wrongdoing on the island, it was just a happening party place, that's quite a joke to make about your pal who was convicted of fucking an underage prostitute.

Watching Atheism Plus and the larger movement's takeover by urban, middle-class, mostly white narcissist "I am woman, hear me whine," which turned the movement into being all about their vaginas—how they looked and whether expecting springtime freshness was misogyny—and making sure their soy, beta, handmaid men know that they were always wrong [inhale]

was never not funny to me. To watch that whole house of cards tumble down in real time was pure cinema.

While the possibility of being the one to stop Epstein does incline me to support her, did her sperging perhaps harm the legitimacy of her claims and therefore the legitimacy of future claims?
I am not sure how. Mainly because she wasn't making a claim. By 2011, Epstein was already a convicted sex offender. A fact which she apparently pointed out at the time in her Skepchick article:

Insofar as the Epstein goes, she wasn't wrong then, and she's even less wrong now. Also, Krauss looks (at best) like a fucking idiot in this.

Without re-litigating the whole elevatorgate thing, I will say that... to the best of my recollection... when Sargon, thunderf00t, and others put this chick on blast for that, they rather conveniently left out her extremely valid argument concerning the skeptic community (especially Krauss and Dawkins) hobknobbing with Epstein. Until today, I had not actually read her 2011 Skepchick article, and it's kinda wild to read it now.

That is not the point raised. Asking a complete stranger to your hotel room for sex is inappropriate to most people, actually, but way to give respond in the most disingenuous manner possible.

She was alone at 4am in an elevator with a stranger. She found it creepy and annoying. She is allowed to have that opinion over an interaction she experienced. She is also allowed to go on YouTube and say so. She’s not a BPD whore for doing so, it’s in fact unbelievably common.
JFC people, how do you think we all got here? Men and women glaring at each other with deep suspicion from across the roads with no physical contact?
Are you retarded? You’ve moved goalposts so incredibly beyond the scope of relevancy it’s almost impressive. You’d say anything to avoid admitting to basic social truths everybody knows. Kinda funny.

If a giant unattractive tranny cornered you in an elevator and asked if you wanted to have sex, would you a) say yes b) prove you have no principles and decline.
Chad Thundercock asked her to come to his room for coffee, she'd have grabbed him by the dick and led  him away.
The thread has now devolved into sexual fantasy and fan fiction.

That is exactly the point raised. She is certainly "allowed" to have that opinion. He is also certainly "allowed" to engage in the behavior and suffer no ill consequences for it. Say "no" and go your separate ways, you ugly whore.

Are you retarded? You’ve moved goalposts so incredibly beyond the scope of relevancy it’s almost impressive. You’d say anything to avoid admitting to basic social truths everybody knows. Kinda funny.
Well, no, I'm not. But having previously gotten laid by saying "hello" to an attractive woman in an elevator on the way to my hotel room at a conference, I can confidently say you are filled with an astonishing amount of rancid horseshit and not qualified to opine on the behaviors of living beings.

It is a basic social truth that inviting someone to spend time with you is a healthy, normal human interaction, as is politely declining, as well as saying "oh okay, well, have a good one" and getting on with your life. Your autismo-faggotry does not change that.

If a giant unattractive tranny cornered you in an elevator and asked if you wanted to have sex, would you a) say yes b) prove you have no principles and decline.
I would laugh my ass off at the ugly faggot and be on my way. I certainly wouldn't feel compelled to try to "cancel" the guy by bellyaching about it online.

What "principles" are you suggesting I lack? The "principle" I espouse is "asking is not harmful, and take a 'no' with grace." How much semen have you swallowed today to diminish your capacity to comprehend something this simple?

Can someone explain to me how woman talking about dealing with a creep and saying no to him makes her a BPD whore?
Of course saying no to him doesn't make her a BPD whore. But I don't see what makes him a creep either. What she describes sounds like a completely polite interaction. He didn't grab her by the hair and say "sup bitch, wan sum fuk?" What he said was "Don't take this the wrong way, but I find you very interesting and I would like to talk more, would you like to come to my hotel room for coffee?" and then he left her alone when she said no. Is that not allowed? What's so creepy about that?

How many women you have asked directly for sex or to "come to your place for a chat" in public first time seeing them? I am asking because if A man did it to me I would be creeped out and insulted .
At least a few. They do say yes sometimes. Some women have even invited me to their place. Based on how he phrased it I assume they had talked at least a little bit before and were both probably a little drunk. Keep in mind this interaction happened after a night at the bar. I don't think there's anything unusual about this whatsoever.
