*They want to molest children

*They want to have sex with animals

*They want to have abortions

*They want to commit incest

*They want to murder

*They want to relate to other ugly people

*They want to listen to crappy death metal bands and Insane Clown posse

*They're still virgins past the age of 30

*They're afraid that the Flying Spaghetti Monster will smite them and force them to be gang-raped by pirates for all eternity if they don't convert to atheism

اَوۡ کَصَیِّبٍ مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ فِیۡہِ ظُلُمٰتٌ وَّ رَعۡدٌ وَّ بَرۡقٌ ۚ یَجۡعَلُوۡنَ اَصَابِعَہُمۡ فِیۡۤ اٰذَانِہِمۡ مِّنَ الصَّوَاعِقِ حَذَرَ الۡمَوۡتِ ؕ وَ اللّٰہُ مُحِیۡطٌۢ بِالۡکٰفِرِیۡنَ

Atheists themselves are probably the best argument there is that there is no intelligent design, lmao (Though one could also argue that they're proof there is no human evolution - the average atheist is less effective at natural selection than a horney chihuahua)
 
It is because when people think religion, in the West that immediately means an implausible book of an Abrahamic God which cannot be viscerally and directly experienced.

I feel almost certain there is no afterlife for me. But it is okay because I am not the thing I call "me" in sober states...

I think the Abrahamic afterlife can basically be disproven via direct first hand experience of strong ego death. If something is able to be extinguished while the brain is in tact, the idea it exists eternally becomes implausible. I am not my body or my personality. I mean I AM. But that's not the actual thing that we all mean deep doen when saying "I".
 
Alright seriously, the more material the culture the more atheistic it is. Religion, true religion and not buddy Jesus or wicca shit, is about choosing the hard path and doing what you think is right and just over the easy path of hedonism. To name a few popular examples, it's difficult to abstain from casual sex, keep in peak physical shape, or commit to a stable form of charitable work, but in most religion's such sacrifices will lead to self-betterment and a pleasant afterlife. The drive to choose the hard way decreases proportionally to how easy immediate mortal pleasures are to access

The rape and murder ones don't make any sense though, you'll still go to jail for them even if there's no priest scowling at you about how you'll go to Hell. Being an atheist doesn't mean you can just shoot someone in the face and then get out of jail free by going "Haha! I don't believe in God suckers!".
 
The concept of eternal punishment for mortal sin handed out by a supposedly loving God has never jived well with me. The somewhat evolving human interpretation of morality just makes everything messier.
 
I'm not an atheist and I think atheism is nothing more than arrogant hubris and pseudo-intellectualism and I consider it a very indirect Abrahamic religion since it would not exist if Yahwehism didn't become the dominant religious tradition in the West.

Well, whatever; i'm actually a kind of "atheist" only because i have the same position as politics; knowing too much the corruption & false hope those fuckers give in their institutions. Taking a side in a endless war seems pointless, so i prefer being either neutral passive or a extreme one.
