Also, friendly reminder that the Razzies nominated Jim Carrey for Worst New Star for The Mask, Ace Ventura and Dumb and Dumber — y’know, some of the most iconic movies in his whole career.
Be fair this was 1994 and Carrey wasn't as well known as he was back then those movies were still new and hadn't reached their iconic status yet. Sometimes they do have a point like Sandler's Jack and Jill sweeping the awards in every category and beating even battlefield earth for most wins. But lately as I said they've sold out and become the very thing they once made fun of.

It a shame because worst reckless disregard for human life and public property could have been funny in showing how poorly stuntmen are treated, alas it seems like it more about movies that the media said would inspire the altright.

Lets brake down the nominees to show this is all woke bullshit.

Dragged Across Concrete -- Police partners descend into the criminal underworld after they are suspended for assaulting a suspect on video. ( it's bad because it paints gang members as bad people and tries to say killing them will solve problems. Also promotes the monstrous assumptions that cops may actually want to help the community and are held back by red tape and protocol and not just bloodthirsty pigs looking for a minority to lynch. )

The Haunting of Sharon Tate - A fictionalized retelling of sharon tates murder, it promotes the "Conspiracy Theory" that Roman Polanski got her killed in some fucked up demonic ritual performed by the Mason Familly. Also you can't imply in any way that Hollywood is filled with weirdos or bad people.

Hellboy (2019) - They just really hate hellboy

Joker- incel movie, it was released even though the media told us it would lead to mass shootings and chaos.

Rambo: Last Blood - Rambo kills the cartel, even though the cartel is a huge problem with insane amounts of power in Mexico you cant promote a white guy going after them because that promotes bigotry and de-huminizes mexicans.

Tl : DR the razzies have always been shit and often let their politics get in the way of laughing at the years failures.

Nominating Rambo: Last Blood for so many categories is pure and utter bullshit.

I'm convinced they never actually saw the movie, and just saw "Stallone" and "Rambo" and said "Do it!". (to say nothing for the potential political shit storm surrounding it).

Pure Godzilla fanboy-ism here too, but them nominating it for worst ripoff, sequel, or remake is ridiculous too. I mean, I liked it more than Toy Story 4...and Aladdin...and Dumbo...and The Lego Movie 2.

Of course they didn't, they're fucking bandwagon hoppers.

Going back to my earlier comment about Kubrick being nominated for Worst Director, it is true that The Shining wasn't all that well-received upon release. It is more cerebral than your average horror fare. So of course why don't we nominate that movie for both Worst Director and Worst Actress and show everyone we have our fingers on the pulse of pop culture? Except people realized the movie was actually brilliant and Kubrick's work was incredible.

The Razzies are just like the Oscars in that they don't matter and they're flat out wrong a lot of the time.

So where are the Disney movies in these lists?
Or are they just like the Oscars and just suck rat cock like the rest of Hollywood?

I mean Hellboy 2019 is actually a piece of garbage but your spopt on with the others

I don't understand why Rambo: Last Blood was nominated for so many categories (well, we all know why ... The people running the Razzies are very, very left). I finally had the time to watch it last week, and I thought it was good!

Sylvester Stallone doesn't deserve to be anywhere near a "worst actor" list for this movie. There was a moment in the movie that shockingly hit me pretty hard, emotionally. Caught me completely off-guard in a good way.

Also, dare I say ... I thought the movie was actually classy in some parts. lol. The way the movie handled sex trafficking was done extremely well: The movie showed just enough to say how absolutely horrific it is, but it didn't show so much to the point where it felt exploitive. For that, I respect what the movie did entirely.

If any asshat saw Rambo: Last Blood and thought, "I don't like that Mexican people were the bad guys!," then they need to get a fucking life. The Mexican Drug Cartel is a real group of people who do heinous things in real life. They even film some of their executions and put them on the internet like they're ISIS or something. And sex trafficking is a real thing that happens in Mexico, especially in places like Jaurez. And these people claim to care about women's rights? Kay!

Also, the same people bitching about this movie are also the type of people who say that illegal immigrants from Mexico are just "Dreamers" who want to make better lives for themselves and that it's cruel to turn those people down from "refuge." So ... Is Mexico a shithole or not, lefties? PICK ONE.

I never gave any thought to the Razzies being political until now, and what a sad realization that is. I saw Rambo Last Blood and it doesn't deserve to be on this list six times. When comparing Rambo and Star Wars 9, Rambo was more coherent of a story and far more entertaining. Episode 9, as well as other Disney movie products in general, are conspicuous in their absence- especially Lion King for the uncanny valley lions alone (haven't see it myself, but it seems the definition of an unnecessary remake).

I wonder if they've now issued a formal apology to him because of all his Trump sperging.

It was a decent flick. My only gripe with it is that it felt like a whole action scene was cut out, overall making it feel like it was half finished.

I can only guess they hate Rambo V so much because of perceived racism against Mexicans. It's not the best Rambo film but it's better than 3 and it's okay for the most part.
The "racism" makes no goddamn sense. The movie isn't saying every Mexican is evil. Hell, Rambo's niece, who's one of the only people he deeply cared about is Mexican, as is that nice old lady he lives with and the reporter lady who helps him get his revenge. If anything, the movie has a positive outlook on female Mexicans (the niece's friend being the only outlier). The only reason it's labelled as racist is because the antagonists are cartel members who are, gasp! shock! Mexicans in real life too.

If Rambo 5 is racist, then Breaking Bad is probably even more racist given that literally every scene that takes place in Mexico is some of the most horrifying shit ever, but then Breaking Bad wasn't made in Current Year so nobody cares.

Oh, is that why Godzilla wasn't nominated for the Oscars, 'cause the Razzies think it's a bad sequel/remake? Fuck that noise. The new category is the lulziest thing as well because Frozen 2 wasn't nominated.

The Razzies used to be funny. Now it's just depressing.

At least it isn't Drumpf being unnecessarily nominated in any of these awards trying to unfunnily bash him.

And wtf is this "reckless disregard for human life and property" category?
