Once my friend wrote and posted a simple fanfiction about two characters in a car pulling over on the side of the road, and the male character leaned in and started making out with the female character. She enthusiastically returned his kiss, then things escalated in a typical fashion and they fucked.

She got some random person screaming in the comments about how terrible she was for writing a rape fanfiction...because the characters didn’t explicitly say ‘do you want to have sex?’ ‘yes’ first. Both of them were adults and sober. Apparently enthusiastically returning kisses and touches didn’t make it obvious enough....
