For people that like to preach the whole "clothing has no gender" spiel, they sure do have reservations about buying their daughters shoes from the boy's section or their sons shirts from the girl's section. It'll fit the same.
I once needed a suit for some school thing and the girl's section had no equivalent, so I just got one from the boy's section. Fit well, and no one, including elementary-school-me, gave much of a shit. Things can be gender-neutral without having a label slapped on them.

Tumblr’s attempt at “gay culture” is so cringeworthy and false. Definitely comes off as a bunch of straight teenagers trying to be in on the next cool thing. A lot of self respecting gay folks don’t want anything to do with it.

My mom (as in, the woman who says shit like this) keeps having a shitfit when I suggest that I could wear male jeans (I'm a fatass) and not spend 4 hours searching for a woman model that fits, so yeah, some people are just...like that.

People are angry about the sexual orientation of a fictional gun lady who was created for the purpose of selling lootboxes to bored teenagers and over-affluent 20 somethings.
Maybe regardless of whether or not that character is bi/gay/lightly buttered and served with tarragon, it's kind of a moot point.
People care way too much about this shit. Tracer doesn't love you, and her sexuality can't be misrepresented because she was created by an $80 billion entertainment empire to flog you micropayments.
