Anime is at most popular culture, and even then only a very small facet of it. Also, Popular culture =\= culture as a whole. Unless you're a hardcore weaboo, then all perspective goes out the window.

Old/late as fuck but
I showed a friend the same post and they sent her something like this: 'op never said it was m/f' or some shit like that. Week later they never responded to my friend but they seemed to post any anon hate that came from their response to the post. Not sure why she expected to get through to them but I find it funny that most tumblr users will post rude messages but never any real criticism.
Also I like it when millennials forget that they're also millennials
