The purpose of the game is to simulate the experience of walking around in a world full of fantastic critters and catching them, and if you can't/aren't will to walk when that seriously sucks, but that's how life is sometimes like geez. Also I remember being able to breeze through pokemon games at the age of 4, being able to read very little of what was being said, and very rarely being challenged before endgame, so if either of those are issues for you, you probably don't need to be playing Pokemon games.
