I think the reason they treat murderers the way they do is to come off as edgy, like the druggie side of tumblr does. That, and if you learn about how some of them were raised up until they went nuts and started killing people, you can relate to their problems. Gacy, having an abusive and negelcting father and hiding his being gay for most of his life for fear of being shunned by the community. Dahmer, having a broken family, a pill popping mom, and no friends. After that tho, tumblr goes too far. I feel like most of these blogs get away with making them seem lovable because they have not and most likely never will go through losing a loved one at the hands of a pychopath. It also kinda plays into how they treat mental illness. Their tradgic past plus people too young to recall the horror the families went through just makes the whole thing really sad. It's even worse and more terrible when they do it with recent killers. There is not excuse for that.

Yeah, I agree, and most of them will probably grow out of it. Others may end up like Lynn Ann (a 30/40 something year old Columbiner and a lolcow in her own right) https://encyclopediadramatica.se/Lynn_Ann

Also agreed that when you learn about some of these killers backstories, it's no wonder that they ended up murderers. Others though, there's just no reason for it and it's very hard to feel empathy for someone who has never really suffered but yet wants to inflict suffering on others.

I would rather see those 'ponies in the Holocaust' pics, this is the equivalent of drawing some Nazis at a memorial to some more recent genocide.

I kind of miss when Tumblr was mostly Anglophiles/Brit weeaboos. I'd rather see well-intentioned sperging about Sherlock and Doctor Who than the latest "discourse" on why X is racist, sexist, Y-phobic, etc. Sure this post is fucking dumb, but at least it's not some smug pseudointellectual preaching about how UKIP is racist/imperialist/capitalist scum and how Trump caused Brexit.
