Wait, I'm confused. Did she actually assault anyone? From the way she worded her post it sounds like she was about to, and then just like, backed off or something in the first two. And then in the second two, there's some definitely fucked up shit, but I am not sure I would call it "sexual assault"?
Can she clarify if she is a rapist or not in like a sentence? She really ran around there in like two paragraphs.

I'm not sure why they would even want to ship Genji and Zenyatta in the first place, because Zenyatta is basically just roaming robot Buddha. He lives to emotionally support people and guide them to self-acceptance, like that's his entire shtick.

Clearly this means that once a character has a canonical sexuality, they can't ever be shipped for anything else.

I still don't understand the shrieking about "canon sexuality" when that was the whole reason fo AUs and things to exist. Don't like who a character ends up with? Write your own version where they end up with someone else and stop bitching, why is this hard?
Hell, if you care about "representation" /that much/, you could fucking advertise your story with its "subversive ship", even if we all we know it's pandering and obnoxious.
I just don't see what the complaining accomplishes, though.

Even as a :autism: shipper :autism: who should be able to get why (because if I could get a PhD on the subject of this stupid hobby, I'd have it and teach it at Harvard or w/e) I actually can't fully understand the reason behind the need for ships and sexualities to be canon.
Maybe it's because I, personally, was never attracted to the 100% canon ships or even super popular non-canon ones since forever that I assumed everybody else thought the same. Fanfics exist for this exact reason, man. If the fanfic is canon there's no need for the fanfic to exist.
So, eh, I guess this whole 'make our gay ships canon' thing is more rooted in wanting to be validated by the creators of whatever they're obsessing over (in a creepy 'senpai noticed me and my gay ship' way) and projection/wishful self-aggrandizing.
I doubt they really care about 'representation' either way.
