i can't find any answer with search, so i guess this is the next best place.

There's no story, it means "Our Pet Lolcow".
There is something that I have never fully pieced together. For a period of time, we all know our Hero would start his videos by saying "Captain's Log", in tribute to Star Trek.
But, I have never read or seen any other evidence of our Hero watching that show, liking that show, or mentioning that show.
What gives?

It's just autism. Chris has never been a fan of Star Trek. He's probably just copying something he saw another YouTube personality do, or something he saw on Family Guy. I think it might be related to his ego; when he ran the CWCipedia he liked to say, "I am the Captain of this Boat." I don't think we know exactly where he got it from, but I doubt it was directly from Star Trek.

My guess is Bob would watch the original Star Trek and Chris somehow latched on to the captains log thing.
That sounds like a good guess. What an interesting time at 14BLC that must have been. Saturday night PBS, Bob enjoying some Star Trek, and Chris picking up random bits of dialog. I wish there was evidence for this.
Since Shatner was on Family guy, he may have very well picked it up from there as asperhes suggests.

I'm making a timeline of the Catherine non-saga to make it easier to figure things out as more information gets dumped. There are currently some errors on the CWCki, understandable given how recent this stuff is.
early July: Chris creates new OkCupid profile.
July 9: Chris believes the relationship began on this date.
August 14: Chris declares himself to be a lesbian.
August 15: Chris writes (and sends?) his three apology letters, saying that he and Catherine “Deeply love each other.”
August 18: Chris calls Catherine his "girlfriend" in a note to a forum member.
August 29: Public revelation of Catherine on Facebook.
August 31: Applebee’s date. Chris changes Facebook status to “in a relationship.” Catherine receives CD and two drawings of her.
Sept. 2: Relationship vows sent.
Sept. 13: Chris goes to pride festival.
Sept. 15: Chris gets the un-clit.
Sept. 20 (approx.): Dildo washcloth email.
Sept. 28/29: Chris-Catherine-Colin love triangle.
Oct. 4: Chris makes apology video for Catherine.
Oct. 8: Chris sends Barb’s letter to Colin.
Oct. 10-12: Catherine tells Chris she does not want a romantic relationship. Argument with Colin over voicemail and text.

Some observations:
--After just a month of correspondence, Chris believed that he was in a serious relationship, and he believed that Catherine loved him. He says numerous times that the love is "mutual." He takes steps to enable he and Catherine to go shopping together and attend PVCC.
--After one date, Chris escalated his commitment to the "relationship" in several ways. It becomes "official." It's at this point that he sends the vows.
--I now suspect that Chris coming out as a lesbian was intended to woo Catherine. The chronological overlap between the gender switch and the beginning of the relationship seems more than coincidental. It's not the only reason, but it's a big one.
--He further tries to make himself attractive to Catherine by getting the unclit and rushing to produce Crystal, so that he can get rid of his duck as soon as possible. I think these actions need to be interpreted within the context of his budding "relationship."
This is all speculative and no doubt will be affected by future revelations.

Speaking of the hooker, I recently had a vague idea that maybe part of Chris disgust with his 
actually comes from a feeling of 'let down' after having sex with said hooker.
Chris was putting sex on a pedestal and worshipping it as this huge life-changing thing that will rid him of so many problems and plagues and act as a catalyst for Chris life to make his dreams come true. Unsurprisingly, it didn't really change anything aside from preventing this:
We know Chris is unhappy with his duck, the size and bent have always been a huge source of insecurity for him so maybe after screwing the hooker, he subconciously blames his ugly growth for 'not working right'. He had sex but the bright future that was "basically promised" to go along with it didn't happen.
I guess I'm just overthinking this, but it is kind of interesting to take into consideration.

Actually, I don't think Chris was that unhappy with his dick on his own. His dick was for his god-promised heartsweet to enjoy, how it looked like wasn't any of his business. He just assumed it was OK.
It was only when trolls were pestering him about it did he even notice there was anything wrong with it.
And nowadays, he mostly only concerns himself with his dick because it's a reminder that he's still male. And/or when he wants to cash in his dick with straight girls.
