... Some guy has filmed almost three thousand clips about public toilets? The dedication is.. fascinating at least.

When I was younger my family used to make fun of me all the time for checking out the bathroom for every restaurant we went to, this gave me an idea to make a review website based on which public bathrooms were the best in the world I just never got around to it.

Clean restrooms are super important because it’s a cross contamination point between customers and staff, and anything that is still in the restroom gets carried in some form outside as the user leaves.

Another thing to look at is fire extinguishers. If they’re dusty, much less behind on inspection, then the establishment is not properly maintaining more pressing day-to-day issues. Don’t check soda nozzles because very few places sufficiently clean their pop machines.

One thing I'll give McDick's is they're pretty scrupulous about their soda and coffee machines, which is why their coffee usually tastes pretty clean and bright. I'm always amazed how many even supposedly "gourmet" coffee establishments are shit at that and if you order just an Americano it has the bitter, sour taste of uncleaned equipment. I mean your Gaggia coffee machine may be awesome and all but if you don't clean it what comes out of it will still taste like shit.

This is an antique Gaggia espresso machine. Someone I knew had one of these (or a very similar one). He was an artist who lived in a microhouse and had a tiny coffee shop downstairs (this monster took up much of the space) and his living area in the above ground story. Basically it was open whenever he was there.

No way he made any money on that, he just liked the company.
