They really don't, and I'd like to mention War & Peace, from the same director, Sergei Bondarchuk. I think it's just an absolutely amazing film. Or films, really, released in four parts over two years starting in 1965. The battle scenes in it nearly dwarf the ones in Waterloo. You know you're in for a show when the pyrotechnician is given second billing. It's also I think just a great movie and adaptation of the book overall, I'd read the book beforehand and it was all I could have ever hoped for. Two incredible battle scenes here (much moreso the second one in scope and carnage) but if anyone is engaged by these they might consider watching the whole thing.
