I don't think it's genuine self hatred so much as it is chris saying what he "thinks" people want to hear him say in order to be forgiven. I personally think a secondary reason behind him trooning out was chris was getting depressed about how his life was going and he hoped trooning out would offer a fresh start. That meant ditching everything about his old self including his status as a male.

While I don't disagree, Chris did show signs of legit dysphoria well before the tomgirl saga. Now this is not me saying what he's doing is normal or natural at all. I'm saying there's really a component of him that did have immense curiosity and perhaps even fetishized being the opposite gender. The extent he would discuss it is far beyond healthy.
I know that's why I said secondary. Really several factors contributed to it, from some troll (I think surfshack Tito) saying he should get in touch with his feminine side and Chris took that a bit too literally thanks to the tism, and then his parents getting too old to care what he did with his life anymore. Just look at how passive barb is to Chris claiming he's sonichu and calling her Barbara as opposed to mom.
