It’s sort of like a disconnect. He still admires feminine stuff over masculine. However lots of trannys start regretting their transition later in life. Maybe. I thought it was more of his usual of dodging responsibility. When Chris the Goddess is present, everyone pelts him with questions about the Merge, etc. because he's the principle source. As Mewtwo and Sonichu, all he needs to do is say "Nyeh, stop being mean to Mama, she's very Busy right now!" while not even bothering to alter his behavior.

He's always had a bizarre relationship with his own masculinity, though. A lot of hate/rejection + a staunch refusal to completely let go of his bent duck (unless he's recently gone full vagina without my knowledge lol). I definitely see where you're coming from, here.

Took a closer look at the article in question. Does anyone else find this hilarious for how baseless it is? I wish I were there to hear Akili's pitch on why their vidja is any different from the billions of other games out there (many of which are free). It's exactly the kind of thing Chris would eat up, and I hope he makes an opinion post about it.

Not so much, really. It's certainly plausible that other games might have a similar effect, but until someone pays for a controlled study to prove it, that's only guesswork.

I doubt it was the first, as well. But the onus is on someone to find another published study. Personally, I'm not about to search PubMed for studies on video games.

When Nintendo was selling Wii Fit, they could say "This game will get you off the couch and perform simple calisthenics." They can't say "...And that is good for your health." Because we are well past the days of selling Dr. Zadok's Radium Pills for Feminine Complaints or the other extraordinary shit you can see in any medical museum; for good or ill, if you're going to say "This game helps treat ADHD" you need to be able to prove why you think it is effective.

I agree with you in the sense that it is very likely other games, sold for nothing, will have the same effect. However, these guys seem to be the first to actually run a study that got through the door of the FDA, and that isn't easy.

My curiosity got piqued, so I did some surface-level digging, and it looks like Akili's been going at this for some years (early articles about it are dated around 2017), and here's the official full publication of the journal, in case anyone's a sperg like me and cares to read this kind of thing:

It's pretty interesting, actually. There's likely an age limit to be given a 'digital therapeutic,' but if there wasn't, I think it's safe to say Chris would attempt to get his hands on it. The guy thought he could develop lady-bits by listening to bineural beats.

It's fascinating stuff. If you think about it, games have an effect on people who play them; it's not too hard to believe that effect could be used as therapy.

One slightly worrisome thing, though, is that people tend not to publish negative results. Often, a study will be published as a sort of "I think we're on to something here" if there is a 5% or less chance of the results happening by sheer luck. Unfortunately, what that means is that if, say 20 studies are run, one should be "significant", even if there is no significance and the researchers have no idea the other studies are being run. If failed experiments remain unpublished, only "successful" experiments will be published, which may suggest there are results when there aren't.

At one point in time there was a group of trolls who were behind nearly all the focused schemes that pushed Chris' strings and pulled his buttons. They are usually referred to the Inner Circle, and typically guarded Chris from other independent trolls. For instance, when Liquid started making parody videos acting like Chris and it got his attention, they contacted him to bring him on board and work with him. Typically a member would come up with some plan to screw with Chris and bring it up to the group for approval. This was generally done to keep things "fresh" and funny.

Members came and went, there was infighting, some left due to trolls remorse or because they grew up and life had more important things to consume their time. Pretty much every major troll was a member at one point, which is why you had three Clyde Cash trolls. But the big thing that killed the group, and dedicated trolling of Chris in general, was Bob passing away. I think at first it was only supposed to be a temporary hiatus to allow Chris time to mourn, but eventually it was decided that Chris had been actively fucked with long enough, and it's not like you can keep doing the same fake girlfriend shtick over and over and hope it's still fresh. Ultimately the vast majority of people realized it was better for Chris to be left alone to be his own worst troll.

And it's not like people unaffiliated with the group never messed with Chris. Take for instance the CWCipedia Mail Box. Plenty of random CWC watchers participated in those emails.

Sonichu should get a job

Sonichu should shave Chris' head, throw out all his girly clothes, buy Chris an all new masculine wardrobe, and burn all of Chris video games and kiddie toys, especially the girly pony shit. Maybe even voluntarily commit Chris into a mental health facility. Wouldn't Chris be in for a huge surprise when he gets back into his body?!
