What else is a "purely American horror"?

Golden Corral is pretty bad, everybody has a horror story. The only acceptable time to go is Sunday afternoons for the after church lunch rush so the food is semi-fresh and you can play a game of count the stereotypes while you eat.
 
Golden Corral is literally a cut copy paste of the average American school cafeteria. In fact I'm pretty sure the method of production is the same. The theme isn't anywhere different either.

When I was a kid I would go to Golden Corral every Sunday after church, no joke.

I find fair food both fascinating and disgusting. Deep-fried kool-aid in particular confused me for the longest time and doesn't seem like it would be good.
Here is one I saw in Seattle of all places (not the exact one, I didn't know what to google other than "log of curly fries" because that's what it is):

I also recently made tater tot casserole which I don't think exists out of some weird portions of the bible belt?
 
There's nothing Ranch can do that Caesar or sour cream can't do better.
