In short, their next update, Yippie, will be their biggest update in terms of scope, being a full rework of the US + extension of US playable time to 1976, full integration of DV, a Germany rework demo, and an Amur rework. Yippie is also nowhere near close to finishing, No more TNO updates for 2026, it seems.

So any confirmation they went forward with the awful Vote Pig Schlafly content? The redditor/althist.com TDS and smugness radiated like a shonen ki aura upon reading it.

It was even a place that people really wanted (Iberian Wars content.) So I think it is no longer a pie in the sky.

Do these guys not understand that there is such a thing as too many focuses? I mean just look at the leaked bormann focuses, Unless they are about 3 days long there is no way in hell you can do all that in the span of 10 in game years it’s just ridiculous

The US content is made by people with a background in something called The Campaign Trail, a political CYOA web game. It's not that they don't understand things, they're making content for a different game and audience. Do an image search for it and a lot of the decisions will make sense. We simply aren't the intended audience. If you go back a page or so I posted a screenshot of them saying as much: the writing lead straight up thinks that HOI4 players that want regular gameplay are a "vocal minority".

They're trying to hammer that square peg through a round hole and that's why things turned out the way they did. It wasn't made for us, but for a hypothetical audience that plays a different game. This is why you gatekeep your hobbies, people.

You jest but if the Indians actually tried making real HOI4 content by lazily imitating vanilla HOI4 or using old screenshots of KR for reference you'd likely get a more playable product at least. If you study for the wrong test you're going to get an F no matter how hard you try and I feel like that's where we are with a lot of their planned content. Good job, you managed to accurately copy all of Fijis deep political history from the 1950s and onwards, but what use is that in a casual Barbarossa simulator?

The fact that IRL Beria acted even more hysterical and pathetic than in this scene always makes me laugh. Apparently he was so disruptive and he wouldn't stop blabbering like a baby that an officer had to gag him with a sock. Apparently he pissed himself too.
