As with anything good that comes from Reddit, it was started by /r/drama, specifically to fuck with /r/chapotraphouse in this case

Also, two interesting things about r/banvideogameshate rules:

1. They'll remove any posts addressing that the sub they're targeting is satire
2. The "No Cringy Memes" rule which, given that memes like this end up on the front page:

probably refers to memes from BVG.

Funnily enough r/banvideogameshate, unlike the literal children that take the bait, is fully aware that r/banvideogames is satirical. The subreddit exists because a bunch of moralfags got offended by the edgy jokes. It still doesn't stop Reddit autist from posting raiding plans on there and taking the bait.
