" Mother is the name for God on the lips and hearts of small children.". This quote basically helped me get sober.

And "Shit rolls downhill, and here we live, in the Valley."

"If everyone was the same the world would be a very boring place" - My primary school teacher

"If the traitor and the enemy approach you and you only have two bullets; shoot the traitor twice"- A friend of mine who was misquoting the romanian iron guard. I don't so much live by it as I do constantly wonder how I feel about it.

"We are all going to die and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people will never die because most people will never be born" -Richard Dawkins

"I am a church. I am something holy, unto myself. This body is a sacred gift given to me by my mother and father, no matter their feelings for one another or the world. I will be good, so that this body will receive a fair and just life. I will take care of this body, lest it fall into ruin.

I need no artificial building of wood and stone, I need no preacher to tell me what it is to be human. I need only the truth that is myself and those who I love.

Religion is a lie, but morals are truth."

"Carry yourself like somebody who is worth looking at."

"And it's too late to tell you that I care / And I'm wishing you were here / And i'm thinking it would be better if you never left at all / This place is not the same / Without the smile on your face / And if you were here then I would take you everywhere"

-Penfold, "I'd Take You Everywhere"

I've sang-cried this so many times. It resonates with me.

"The difference between a moral man and a man of honor is that the latter regrets a discreditable act, even when it has worked and he has not been caught." - H.L. Mencken

"Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience." -George Carlin

"To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did."
"Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship" - Denzel Washington (both)

I like how George Carlin never expanded on that quote or denied saying it or anything, considering all it was is a rewording of a bible verse (Proverbs 26:4). And we all know how Carlin felt about religion.

Anyway, mine is a lyric. But whatever:

When the world is too dark
And I need the light inside of me
I walk into a bar
And drink fifteen pints of beer

“If your mind is empty, it is always ready for anything, it is open to everything. In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert's mind there are few. ”
Shunryu Suzuki, from a really great book named "Zen Mind, Beginners Mind"

this was taken from a button quote.

I want to go down on you and make you extremely happy. Then I want to come back up slowly and fuck you real good and hard. Yours Truly, Gas Prices!

"Nobody is perfect"

I don't even use this as self-defence but to soften the high horses of others and also to be more sympathetic. No matter how great someone thinks he is, in the end we're all just human with human behaviors and human flaws and nobody can change that fact. Me, you, we are limited in many regards, and this is perfectly fine. We are not designed to be perfect.
