It's sad how stupid it is, that there are two "sides" instead of actually having thoughts of your own, no, instead, pick a side like it's some fucking sportsball team, and then that's the "side" you're on, even if it's completely fucking retarded. You don't get to have your own opinion, you just get to join a team.

Fuck this gay, stupid world.
Stop equivocating, sweetie, you either choose the 'right side of history' or abject Fascism, there's nothing in between.....

"This, too, shall pass."
Not sure who said it or where I first heard it, but always a great reminder that no matter how shitty things are in the moment, it can get better.

"(Relationships) are not a contest, it's not about who 'wins'. It's a team effort."
Advice from my own father.

If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier until it is so ugly you can hardly bear to look at it.

A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and double chin and stick out teeth, but if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely. -Roald Dahl.

It's pretty childish, but i've had it ring true more times than I can count. Some of the nicest people i've ever met have been weird lookin motherfuckers, and some of the biggest assholes were bombshells and hunks, but in hindsight you can always see it in their face. Maybe humans are just way better at reading faces and eyes than we really know, windows into the soul and all that. Maybe i'm just reading way too far into a quote, but it's stuck with me.

"An animal caught in a trap would gnaw off its own leg to escape. A human would endure the trap, feigning death that he might kill the trapper and rid his species of a threat. What will you do?" - Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam

"Allow me to remind you that there is no memory that time does not efface, no pain that death does not destroy."

""Well, whatever bigger disaster could there be' retorted Sancho, "than the ones that has to wait for time to efface it and death to destroy it?"

-Don Quixote, Chapter XV

AD: Don't get your taco in a twist, baby.
V: Was that you trying to be sexist? Or racist?
AD: Whatever pisses you off more.

Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel

Also is search broken? I could swear I've posted this one before.

"Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats." H.L. Mencken

Bizarre. I'm surprised XenForo contemplated something like this but apparently I just posted from the future.
