FYI to mods, our glorious admin @Null and users in general: another lolcow forum, PULL (pretty ugly little liar), announced it will be closing in the next 2 weeks. Additionally, control over lolcow.farms was handed to a new admin 2 weeks ago, and the boards are rapidly deteriorating to the point of being unusable - they've been under a spammer attack for 48 hours, and literally the only thing that stopped the flood was the spammer getting bored and going to bed because the attack resumed upon their waking. The new admin seems not too fussed about it, or seriously under staffed.

Anyway, why do we care? Between those two boards closing and turning into a dumpster fire, we should expect a reasonable increase in users. Obviously having accounts keeps anon spam floods from happening, but I wanted to give folks a heads up that things might get frustrating for a while.

I'm not sure how I'd want to respond to this if at all. I'm aware most of L.F's users do not like me for various reasons. I have no idea how PULL considers the forum because I only went there once to make fun of Autphag and then completely forgot all about it.

If you are from one of those communities and have an idea for some sort of reasonable accommodation request I may be willing to go out of my way to make them, though I'm pretty sure the Cosplay tag in the Lolcow proper board encompasses 100% of what those boards represent, minus accountless posting and a majority-female audience. I imagine the biggest turnoff for those posters when they see this forum is the large number of "I'd tap that" posts certain lolcows get, like Alison Rapp. The lack of a focus from a /cgl/ perspective is also detrimental.

The one thing I can offer is a fork-domain. Sort of like https://capitalist.army. For instance, I could setup a "lolcow.sexy" or whatever and have that be a top-secret girl board for catty bullshit.

There have been several times when people expected acquisitions from these websites but they never come around. Most people are very aware how gluttonous I am about getting new users and new communities to merge in, and those from 8chan/lolcowfarm are fiercely contrarian to that intent.
 
The fact that lolcow is pretty much in flames at the exact moment PULL announces it's going to close is pretty ironic considering that's naturally where PULL's users would migrate to

That's an interesting idea - I'd imagine that might appeal to some of the LF users.

The main issues are that the PULL users are young / bloggy / sensitive / easily offended and expect safe spaces, and LF users like being anon and work at a rapid posting pace where multiple posts in a row work fine, neither of which will work here. Having accounts should keep the spam floods happening at LF from happening here, and the ratings should help curb the worst handwringing and blogging from PULL.

I guess we'll see what happens if / when folks find this place in the aftermath, and what they might want? I just wanted to avoid surprises for the mod staff here after seeing the new LF admin / staff get totally caught off guard and way above their heads (there's no way they're going to be able to cope with the PULL folks incoming, they can't handle the place now.)
 
Safe-spaces are completely off the table here. You will be ridiculed and Dynastia will dox you. That's just how it works.

As for LF, if they want IBs I run 16chan.nl and they're free to set up shop at will. There is far, far less micromanage there from me. I don't imagine they will, but it's on the table. One account can manage multiple boards and there is a more complicated permission system available to BOs.
 
As if the summerfag torrent couldn't get any worse, now we have MORE coming while their website shits itself. Its going to be a long summer for the mods dealing with the overly sensitive snowflakes.
 
@Null I passed your offer on to them as there were more than a few who seemed to want an ownershp transfer and nobody seemed capable of stepping up to manage it.
 
idgaf about their catty content tbh I just love having internet community culture exchanges like we had with EDF and SC I like interacting with people who aren't terrified of me like kiwi cucks are

That reminds me we should have one with ironmarch and maybe poach the next Lindsay from them
