How far did you get? The beginning isn't really all that similar to about an hour or 2 in. Depends what you hate about it though.
Edit: Also apparently Gay Informer is doing coverage for the game and their digital issue is supposed to be out today. Anyone know a good way to affix a peg leg and eyepatch when it comes to magazines?

This is looking good. New power is mainly a grapple but apparently it'll affect the story in ways, too.

Hell yeah, I am hyped for this, it only took over 15 years but better late than never!
I don't see them going out of their way to inject much, if any, in the way of real political commentary, it would not at all fit the tone and style of this world, even something like the Milkman level was totally absurd and I feel even Tim realizes this.

Maybe it's because I'm pretty jaded and cynical now when it comes to modern video games, but I can easily see them pulling some woke shit in this. The allure of going after that small but loud demographic is just too tempting for people nowadays.
Although I would laugh my ass off if they had a tranny in the game only for Raz to go in and fix his head and make him realize he's just sexually repressed or something. But that would never happen.

That's why they will never will inject twitter politics into Psychonauts 2, any they could would be end up being levels and wouldn't be seen as normal human behavior before Raz sorts them out.
Image what a blue hair whale that tweets all day head level would look like.

Level looks pretty small like it's a tutorial level, which is a bit of a shame as it'd be kinda fun to guess at what all story stuff will go with the game. Looks pretty cool so I hope it ends up as enjoyable as the first game.

It's kind of sad we've reached the point where we can't truly be hyped or anything because we're afraid wokeism will be injected into it.

As someone who only played Psychonauts for the first time recently, I can definitely relate to the idea that the writing and world design is more appealing than the actual gameplay. Some of the physics felt clunky to me like getting onto tightropes and using the hover ball. Though that being said I still had a blast.

Namely at 1:26 where instead of telling the story organically they make you wait as the story is played out in a cutscene. This is the exact opposite of what made the original's storytelling so good.
I wonder if we'll see psi-poppers make an appearance (development leak joke development leak joke)

I agree with the waiting thing, but the rest of the world looks incredible to the point I'm willing to look past it.

The overall creativity and humor was the main appeal. The game is also a good example of what happened back when PC devs, using PC sensibilities, tried to make console style gameplay. It often ended up feeling stiff and clunky.
