ProjectMoon Megathread - Lobotomy Corporation, Library of Ruina, Limbus Company, etc.

Did Limbus just stuck project moon on a dead end?
We were promised a City builder
We were promised 2 Cantos a year
We were promised frequent Walpis
And many other promises.
Limbus Company was meant to be a little boost for the company for other projects until Kim got a whiff of that gacha money and went down the 10 years of Limbus path.

It has been a huge dream of his to make a game like FGO.

The problem is Limbus makes more money every year than ruina did in its entirety.
IIRC Ji Hoon talked about possibly making a 3D genshit inspired game like a year ago with no real overarching plot and just focusing on side stories in the city. He said they might conclude DD as its own chapter there.
However, that game idea was only ever mentioned offhand in that specific livestream and there's really no indication that they are working on it.
Did retards somehow forget that gookdector and his team were like 20 people + hamhampangpang staff at the start of limbus?
They only started to expand last year and im pretty sure their new offices are still not done, and the fact that he likes larping as Ahab and throwing chairs at random people doesn't exactly help.

They only started to expand last year
nonsense, they have been expanding ever since limbus released. There is an early stream where ji hoon talks about how he thinks he's at his limit for what he can comfortably micro manage employee wise. IIRC I think its literally the first anniversary stream? And the very first stream he did he talked about hiring people and even gave a generalized list of qualifications he wanted.

Not to mention they already said they were going to attempt an Anime in house.

I understand that new ego for Yi Sang is busted and Lament Yi Sang now can roll at least 31 on clash with his skill 3 if he uses Solemn Lament and Bygone Days EGOs, but come on, two pistols can use 9 coins and whole minigun can only use 5? And does anybody know if "Maximum cap increased for the sum of The Living & The Departed potency and count" part of the passive only applies to his ammo cap or also works on enemies?

Also, no sinking tremor or any new butterfly + tremor gimmick, which is why they probably made him sinking+tremor when this EGO is equipped just for md crowd.

Forced to be a game dev

Since Dante feels the death of every sinner as he revives them, what would he be feeling when Arashu mugas the HoS sinners?
Personally, I'm on the team that keeps every sinner alive because it lightens the load on Dante. If I were a better manager, then no sinner would be dying.
He feels every injury, so the Arayashiki deaths would probably be like in the previous canto where Hong Lu's death was so fast that he didn't feel anything. Probably the most merciful thing you can do for El Manager is playing a pure shield team that never take real damage.

I feel like this canto was way better than the hell that was previous canto. I think a big issue is that they don't want to fall into the trap of the players needing to play multiple games to get what's going on like most Square Enix shit.

General advice:
Canto's 1&2 are very slow to start. Not saying they are bad by any measure, but canto 3 picks up and 4 is where the games story really becomes special.

What and When to pull on a banner: For the most part, only pull during the Walpurgis event. (Almost, see below) every other ID becomes shardable (read: Free) after their banner ends.

The only thing you want to buy is the first level of battle pass, since they last all canto long and give solid rewards outside of Ego Crates. This games true test is teaching old school gatcha players how to save. I've spent over $1200 on this game and am no better off than a free to play player to show for it. I have gotten a little bit better about saving pulls and just sharding characters. (I at least learned to stop buying the resources to level and uptie IV every character I get...)

When a Canto ends, you cannot dispense the characters from that canto until the NEXT canto ends. So I would start saving immediately and try to get these characters in order:
House of Spiders Ryoshu
House of Spiders Yi Sang
House of Spiders Rodion
House of Spiders Outis
Aprentice Ishmel
Richardo Heathcliff

If you manage to get all of those and still have some shards, I'd also grab
Shadow Vested Bladesinger Mersault Ego
Into the Sunset Rodion Ego
OSIR Ishmel

If you try pulling in the Walpurgis coming up I would get Dawn Office Sinclair to try and have the complete team. It seems like a lot of characters (and it is), but missing them means you can't get some of the best characters in the game until the canto after this one starts. And early game floods you with resources, so try to use them well.

While you don't have to play Lob Corp or Ruina to understand everything going on, watching a video covering the two games will enrich the experience for you. (Though I do recommend Library of Ruina, I'm a sucker for Deck Building games)

Its a very f2p game.
Unless you are a lunatic, the only thing you should even consider buying is the battle pass (its like $8 and lasts for 4-7 months) since you can level it beyond its max rewards and get currency to exchange for characters.

Essentially when maxed out, and assuming you do your weekly and dailies you get enough exchange currency for a new character every 2 weeks. (This is just slightly above the rate to get every character that releases).

If you are pure f2p you get enough for a new character every 6 weeks.
The story is okay most of the time, but its really good at certain points.
Unless you are on current content, its pretty easy because of content nerfs + power creep.

also for the record, the next chapter release is soon.tm, as in like a month so I wouldn't bother buying the battle pass until then.

Most of the regulars of the thread shared their friend code. I'm sure you can find it if you just search it up. Adding a friend lets you use one their IDs (the main gacha focus of the game) from their company (consisting of 12 IDs). There is no downside to using friends and it can give you access to IDs that you might not have access to.

>Is there material needed to raise my units level?
Yes. Materials here are: Training tickets, Character Egoshards, and Thread

>What do they do?
Training tickets level units. Character egoshards and thread are used to "Uptie" a unit which is akin to puling a dupe unit in other gachas and gaining access to higher-tier skills, but here you don't actually have to pull a dupe character to Uptie. Character egoshards are also used to dispense a unit which is basically just pulling the specified unit automatically without the need for gambling (note, for newly released IDs you have to wait 2 weeks to dispense them).

>How is the grind like?
Almost non-existent. You probably don't have to grind unless you autistically want every cosmetic, limited time item, and want to flex that you can do the hard mode events under 10 turns. The materials mentioned above can be gathered by playing the game and through gacha.

>Who's the best character?
It's Don Quixote, obviously. Hands down, no contest. Her autism holds the group together and gives them a clear sense of justice.

Note, I will add that every side-event (called mini-episodes and intervallos) are playable so you can follow along with the pseudo-coherent story line. You don't get the event goodies, but at least you won't miss out on the story. There is only one exception to this and that is the Arknights collab. That won't be ever coming back.

April fools 2027
And its just a spoof of misery but dante is the writer and donqui is the fan but due to mirror world stuff shes a yandere or smth

You are like 2 games too late for that, we even have fucking clapbait event for all the sweet memberberries so all the trannies can pretend they were part of the og autists making fun of the gook translator during the lob corp /v/ days

Nah, it's not even close to the levels of autism. For Gacha you have Fate Go with several games and anime to even know what's going on. And video games you have shit like Nier and Kingdom Hearts. I also think Genshin is shared universe...

There are Labyrinth of Refrain references? One of the underrated games in the last couple of years.

But you definitely can start Limbus not playing anything beforehand without a lot of issue. It does a good enough in explaining what's happening, and the setup itself is very simple without forcing you to deep dive into terminology and past events.

The protag having amnesia and needing exposition drops certainly helps. Dante's notes also helps fill in terminology you might be missing. As I said in my post, knowing the story of the first two games will just enrich the experience playing this one.
