So I was just doing some dishes up and scrubbing out my frying pan with one of these

And I started thinking about how S.O.S pads have been around forever and pretty much haven't changed. I remember my grandma always had a box of them in her kitchen. They're cheap, they work better than probably anything else for scouring a pan with minimal effort they've just been around forever just quietly there tucked away on the shelf at the grocery store unceremoniously in the corner underneath all the fancy new shit that doesn't work as well.

On the theme of household cleaning another couple of unchanged things that have been around forever that just work but don't really get noticed but have always just kind of been around.

And then of course there's the classic Bic Crystal pens

What other kinds of products can you guys think of that are just kind of there? Ones that have just always been around, haven't really changed, they do what they're supposed to do well and nothing more, they don't really get advertised but they're kind of just everywhere or they used to be everywhere and everyone remembers seeing them at their grandparents or something and you can still find them kicking along just fine seemingly the same as they've always been since forever.

What else like this is out there?

... Not cast iron tho right? How does it do on stainless steel? I've never tried them on cookware but I've got some stubborn stains and shit on stainless steel pans
I don't know about cast iron. People have special rules and shit for them probably not. I mean, it won't hurt the pan or anything but I guess you're not supposed to wash them or some shit. I dunno. I don't use any of the cast iron pans I have. My pots and pans are all stainless steel. It works great on steel. Don't use them on anything coated though. They will scratch off Teflon and ceramic coatings and things like that.

I think original Listerine, the brown flavor, is still the same as when it was invented.

I've been eating these since i was a kid whenever i visit my grandparents, they have always told me that the taste of these never changed for a long ass time.

I've never seen these anywhere except one store. I tried them once and they are all right, but they are not even close to tootsie rolls or that strawberry one in terms of prevalence.
My contribution to this thread are those salt water candies. No one eats them and yet they are everywhere.
