In celebration for pride, Mattel made this two-pack that went on sell on the 29th of characters that are canonically gay. They even have a comic sold to kids about their gay relationship!
The funny part is that Mattel decided to back-peddle quite a bit and pulled the wide release from being sold in any stores besides their own website last minute and any mention of them being gay has been scrubbed from the description which just calls them classmates now. It's no longer titled "Pride Two-Pack" either. It caused many people to seethe and blame Trump.

We've brought these fan-favorite Monster High classmates together in this scary-cool 2-pack collector set, a Creations Exclusive Design. They have also tried to do a pride Frankie before (they turned her into a enby, so trans pride), but Target pulled out of the deal and now it's only sold on amazon with all mention of the gender and gay pride shit removed. This almost got canned all together until a designer got up in arms about it. The box is really plain compared to how it usually is which makes me think they had to quickly remove all the gay shit last minute. There's still rainbows but it says nothing about Pride.
The writers of G3 also broke up a straight relationship to get this trans character to date another woman. That straight relationship was like a powercouple at the school with a lot of the plot revolving around the two of them being together. All destroyed to make room for more gay shit.
