I am surprised no one has mentioned the wisdom in banking sugar (and coffee or tea), whether it is a gallon of honey, maple syrup, or granulated white sugar. Maybe some condensed milk too.

If the world has ended, or it's just a week without electricity due to seasonal weather...

I do enjoy a hot cup of sweetened liquid.
