Which way do you get through Sonichu? Reading the comics on PC, comic reader on tablet, listening/watching the audiobooks...or has anyone gone nuts and printed copies of Sonichu up in color?

Personally the audiobooks are what I prefer. I really wish there were a less screwed up encoding of the audiobooks out there. I love that they are back complete now but that chugging frame rate on the video takes a little away from Dethchemist's smooth voice.

Though recently, I read through some issues on a tablet...there is something to be said for having time to soak in the "art" and re-read the crazy ass CWCism filled dialogue.

Thoughts? Any funny reviews/readings/commentary text that others may not have seen?

The more ya know!

I like to read it to friends over Skype. It's especially fun pointing out all the grammatical errors and reading them straight.

But, as for actually just reading it? Audiobooks. Just, audiobooks.

Was the original audiobook narrator Jason Kendrick Howel? (Before Dethchemist).

Also reading it out loud with friends sounds hilarious. I may have to try that this weekend.

The only way that I was able to stand it was by watching the audiobooks. I tried simply reading it at first, but it felt like a chore, whereas the quips in the annotations and the narrator in the audiobooks make it entertaining.

The way Riser does it on his youtube show The Webcomic Relief, especially the final Episode.

When I first saw "enjoy" I was thinking a bunch of freaks were jerking off to Sonichu. My mistake.

And yes, I agree with @BillRiley , stoned.

There is only one correct way to truly enjoy Sonichu, in my true and honest opinion.

Firstly, you must select the people you shall be reading it with. Friends don't let friends read Sonichu alone.

Secondly, decide among yourselves which issue(s) shall be read. It's in my opinion that the number of issues you read should be equal to or less than the number of people you read with.

Thirdly, choose your mind-altering substance. A bottle of fine wine goes well with the candlelit background you shall provide for your guests.

Then, designate a voice actor for each character if all are willing.

Lastly, enjoy your night of revelry as you laugh so hard it will break you dead. Partly because you spent hundreds of dollars on wine to laugh at an oversized straw.

I'd start with Annotated Sonichu. To be honest the comics, while entertainingly awful, don't have the typical elements of So Bad It's Good fiction like The Room and My Immortal and are more of acquired taste like eye-wateringly spicy foods or really dry wine or salty licorice buttons. Annotated Sonichu has the kind of armchair psychoanalysis that I love and is IMO really good in helping people understand why Sonichu speaks to people above and beyond just being a bad webcomic. If you enjoyed Annotated Sonichu you might enjoy reading the rest of Sonichu unassisted; the early issues are the most boring and tame part of the comics, with things only really starting to get kitschy and/or stupid in the special episodes, subepisodes, and volume #8.

The Audiobooks on PatientBC's YouTube channel are also a good transitioning point once you get to the point where Annotated Sonichu stopped. dethchemist's snarkily dry narration really helps to sell the comic, especially in episode 19+.

Word of warning: avoid starting out with the Videobooks (they're done solely by CWC and are distinct from the Audiobooks) unless you can really stand Chris's voice and cinematographic foibles. Those things are awful.

Audiobooks. When I just read them straight, they were too bad to stay on one page long enough for the crazy to really sink in.

I forgot about the Annotated Sonichu! I'll have to go give that a read.
